Younis Khan offered to resign as Pakistan captain after speculation arose over the manner of the team's exit from the Champions Trophy in South Africa - including a catch . dropped by him in the semi-final that proved crucial. Younis was first made captain in 2005 in the absence of Inzamam-ul-Haq but announced his resignation ahead of the 2006 Champions Trophy, only to reverse it the next day. He turned down another offer to captain following Pakistan's poor show in the 2007 World Cup, citing mental strain as the reason. In January 2009, he finally accepted the position and within months led Pakistan to a World Twenty20 title in England. Here is Cricinfo's full coverage of the latest controversy surrounding his captaincy.
