Gutsy eighties from Saeed bin Nasir and Gulraiz Sadaf helped Balushistan maintain their stranglehold over Sind on the second day in Karachi.

Sind had fought back after being shot out for 126 to reduce Baluchistan to 150 for 7, thanks to a double-strike from captain Shahid Afridi. However, Nasir and Sadaf put on 181 runs for the eighth wicket to put Baluchistan back on top. Coming in at No. 7 despite an average of 42.59 and 14 first-class hundreds to his name, Nasir hit seven fours and two sixes in his 89 while Sadaf hit 13 fours on his way to 84. No. 10 Mohammad Irshad's cameo lifted Baluchistan to 362, before they were bowled out late in the day.

Afridi and Sohail Khan were the most successful bowlers for Sind, taking four wickets apiece. Sind's openers safely negotiated the remaining overs and progressed to 24, trailing by 212 runs.

Punjab 306 and 33 for 1 lead Federal Areas 213 (Naved Ashraf 55) by 126 runs

Fast bowler Imran Ali sliced through the Federal Areas middle order to keep Punjab in control on the second day.

The day began disastrously for Federal Areas when they lost both their openers on the overnight score of 5. Naved Ashraf made a brisk 55 and Usman Saeed assisted him with a 35, but they were the only batsmen to make than 20. Imran took three middle-order wickets, including that of Ashraf, to give Punjab a handy 93-run lead.

Federal Areas got the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez cheaply but the in-form Salman Butt remained unbeaten on 10 as Punjab finished on 33 for 1.
