Bangladesh have replaced Mahmudullah with middle-order batsman Nadif Chowdhury for their final match of the Twenty20 Quadrangular tournament in Nairobi.
Chowdhury, who also bowls left-arm orthodox, played his only international in Bangladesh's Twenty20 match against Zimbabwe last November.
Bangladesh beat Kenya, but lost to Pakistan in the warm-up matches that ICC announced would be considered Twenty20 internationals. Under current ICC regulations, all ten Full Members plus the top six Associate Members are entitled to play ODIs and, by extension, Twenty20 internationals. Since Uganda is not among the top six Associate countries, their match against Bangladesh today will not be considered an international.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh allrounder, who missed the warm-up matches with an impact fracture to his right index finger, is recovering well. Shakib took part in the team's practice session on Monday but has been excluded from the final match.
Uganda, who beat hosts Kenya by two wickets, will hope to be in similar form today. Meanwhile, Bangladesh and Pakistan have announced that the Man-of-the-Match cash awards of US$500 that their players, Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir and Nazimuddin, won in the tournament will be given to the Ugandan side.
