Derbyshire have released batsman Wavell Hinds and legspinner Mark Lawson. Hinds had spent two seasons with the county while Lawson's stint began at the start of this year.
"Wavell has added some international class to our batting," John Morris, Derbyshire's head of cricket, told BBC Sport. "However, with our young batsmen coming through and the Kolpak penalties to be taken into account, we have decided to look at different options for 2010.
"Mark has given his all for the cause in 2009 and he is a talented bowler who performed well for us at times. However, his opportunities to play first-team cricket became few and far between during the second half of the campaign and, again, we have elected to explore different options ahead of next season."
Hinds had scored 1248 runs in first-class cricket over two seasons at an average of 33.72, while Lawson took six wickets at an average of 83.25 in four matches. Derbyshire finished in sixth position in Division Two of the County Championship in 2009, having won only two of their 16 games.
