The Emerging Nations Tournament has been conceived to accelerate
the transition of nominated fast-track countries to One-day
International level.
Four European countries, namely Denmark, Holland, Ireland and
Scotland, join Kenya and Zimbabwe 'A' in a 15 match round robin
tournament, which is to be hosted by the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
The Emerging Nations Tournament presents an opportunity for fasttrack countries to prepare for the ICC Trophy in Canada in 2001,
where three countries will ultimately qualify for the 2003 World
Cup in South Africa.
