ICC calls for report on Indian game

The International Cricket Council said that it will receive a full report from match referee, Mike Proctor, on the crowd disturbances that interrupted the India v West Indies One Day International in Jamshedpur today

The International Cricket Council said that it will receive a full report from match referee, Mike Proctor, on the crowd disturbances that interrupted the India v West Indies One Day International in Jamshedpur today.
ICC Chief Executive, Malcolm Speed, said that while it is disappointing that a game has been interrupted, until a full report is received it is not possible to comment on the specifics of what took place.
"It is disappointing that a game has been interrupted and Mike's report will help us understand why this has taken place," said Mr Speed.
"Player safety is critical and incidents of this type should not happen. I know that all Boards work hard to try and ensure that it does not occur and it will be important for us to understand why it has happened on this occasion.
"The ICC and representatives of both the Boards and the players are working together through the Safety and Security Steering Group to ensure that every country has in place effective safety and security plans at all venues."
Jamsedpur has hosted ODI cricket in 1999 and 2000 and received no adverse security reports from ICC referees during these games.
