India v South Africa 1999-2000

At Sharjah, March 22 (day/night)

15-Apr-2001
At Sharjah, March 22 (day/night). South Africa won by ten wickets. Toss: India.
Kirsten and Gibbs swept South Africa to their first ten-wicket victory in one-day internationals with 20 overs to spare. Each hit nine fours, though Gibbs topped them off with three sixes. India had subsided to 89 for eight by the 21st over, with Ntini grabbing three wickets on his first international appearance since his conviction for rape was overturned. Elworthy, whose ten overs cost only 17 runs, also collected three, and India were heading for their lowest total in Sharjah until Jadeja shared easily the biggest stand of the innings with last man Srinath. Their 62 was an Indian tenth-wicket record.
Man of the Match: S. Elworthy.
