India v West Indies 1999-2000

At Toronto, September 14

15-Apr-2001
At Toronto, September 14. India won by 88 runs. Toss: West Indies.
India took the series 2-1 and would have won their final game far more quickly but for Powell, whose 76 in 73 balls echoed his dazzling century in Singapore a week earlier. He hit seven sixes and three fours, but West Indies' next highest score was 26, and they were beaten with 15 overs to spare. Chopra collected five for 21; earlier, Dillon had taken five Indian wickets, though at greater cost. Ganguly resumed opening, but it was Dravid who dominated their innings with 77 in 87 balls, hitting six fours plus two sixes over long-on off successive balls from Adams. He later took four catches to line up the match award. Mohanty removed the in-form Campbell with the first ball of West Indies' reply, and they were 52 for seven by the 18th over. However, Powell's pyrotechnics added 84, a West Indian eighth-wicket record to which Collymore contributed two.
Man of the Match: R. Dravid. Man of the Series: S. C. Ganguly.
