The weekend brought beautiful weather - blue skies - 24 degrees and some fantastic cricket.
Korea met India at Dobong Park - John Kingston had organized Pies, Beers, Hot Chicken Rolls and even 2 minute noodles.
India batted first - The Opener was removed by a wicked ball from the strapping young fast Korean Bowler Paik - however this brought the batsman known has Shar to the crease - he punished all before him - he hit 56 runs off 19 balls -I tell you it was downright it was dangerous being a spectator. Finally Shar fell victim to a brilliant catch in the deep - the Korean fielding was impressive - full credit to them.
Syed the Indian Captain wagged his tail and help India achieved a huge score 276
Extras (a good mate of mine) scored 54 runs - this is something the Korean team needs to work on.
After a few refreshments it was Korea's turn to bat - and they were off to a flying start - they rushed to 50 runs off 8 overs - with some well crafted cover drives - pull shots and late cuts. But the weight of the Indian bowling soon took it toll - Korea was all out for 124. Full Credit to HY Kim - scoring 30 after sustaining a direct blow to the ribs from a lifting ball.
Well Done India.
The Next Game was earmark to be a great confrontation - the two inform teams of the competition Sri Lanka and Pakistan were to meet each other -The Sri Lankans had the fastest blower in the comp "Nimble the Quick" - the Pakistan's had the in form batsman Atiq. The report below is from my good friend and Pakistan Captain Nasir Khan.
Pakistan vs Sri Lankan's game.Sri lanka won by 3 runs. Sri lanka won the toss and bated first, made 164/7wt. Asanka 34.
Pakistan 161/9wts Atiq again soaked the ball 59.
