Former Indian domestic batsman KS Chatrapalsinhji has died aged 72.
He represented Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Saurashtra over a first-class career that spanned 13 seasons. He was the first non-Delhi player to play for the Delhi Ranji side. In 37 matches Chatrapalsinhji scored 1363 runs at 23.10 with a personal best of 98.
He was the uncle of former India batsman Ajay Jadeja.
Milind Rege, secretary of the Cricket Club of India cricket, told the Times of India: "I remember him bringing all the Mumbai cricketers together for a great party at the CCI. I wonder why he did this probably because he had so much respect for all those who played for Mumbai. I have never seen an ever-smiling cricketer like him. Men like 'Bapu' don't come any more."
