†NEW ZEALAND v AUSTRALIA 1985-86

At Dunedin, March 19

15-Apr-1987
At Dunedin, March 19. New Zealand won by 29 runs. On a pitch which favoured seam bowling, and on a slow outfield, New Zealand did well to score 186. Davis was so demanding that he set a trans-Tasman record, bowling his ten overs for just 12 runs, but after a lull between the 22nd over and the 43rd there was sufficient aggression. Blain, in his first match for New Zealand, scored 24 off eighteen balls. Hadlee conceded only 15 runs from his nine overs, with four wickets, and Marsh needed 96 balls for his 35.
Man of the Match: M. D. Crowe and R. J. Hadlee (shared). Attendance: 12,600.
