Pakistan v Australia, 2012

Wisden's review of the third Twenty20, Pakistan v Australia, 2012

Osman Samiuddin
15-Apr-2013
At Dubai, September 10, 2012 (floodlit). Australia won by 94 runs. Toss: Pakistan.
Australia ended a satisfactory tour in good working order for a World Twenty20 on the subcontinent, with Watson, Warner and Starc again combining to set up a thumping victory. The opening stand of 111 was as powerful an exhibition of six-hitting as had been seen at the stadium: in 19 balls from the start of the eighth over, they hit nine of their 11 sixes. It hardly mattered that Australia fell away so sharply after Watson departed, losing seven for 56 (the theme would recur in Sri Lanka at the World Twenty20). Starc and Cummins never allowed Pakistan a sniff, reducing them to 19 for five in the sixth over.
Man of the Match: D. A. Warner. Man of the Series: Saeed Ajmal.
