Aaron Finch fined for ball-tampering

Aaron Finch, the Victorian batsman, has been fined half of his match fee for ball tampering during the Bushrangers' victory over South Australia at the weekend.

The umpires found markings on the ball at the end of the second day's play and initially reported the entire Victoria team, as they could not identify which individual was most likely responsible.

On Monday, at a hearing before Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour Commissioner, Judge David Smith, Finch said he was "most likely responsible for the damage to the ball".

The charge against the team was withdrawn, and Finch was fined individually. The incident also brought five penalty runs for South Australia on Sunday.
