Tendulkar 'fully fit' after operation

Sachin Tendulkar has told the Press Trust of India that he has regained full fitness following the operation on his hand in April. He underwent surgery in Baltimore to repair a bone injury to his left-hand ring finger which had been troubling him since the end of 2002.

"I am fully fit now and I am very much looking forward to the New Zealand series," Tendulkar told reporters.

Tendulkar, who has been troubled by a string of injuries in recent years, was expected to have to undergo four months of rehabilitation, but it now appears that this will not be necessary.
