Bangladesh v Sri Lanka

Wisden's review of the tenth Asia Cup match, Bangladesh v Sri Lanka

15-Apr-2015
At Mirpur, March 6, 2014 (day/night). Sri Lanka won by three wickets. Sri Lanka 4pts. Toss: Bangladesh.
For the second match running Bangladesh lost by three wickets after threatening an upset. Their modest total briefly assumed greater proportions when Sri Lanka dipped to eight for three and, once Thirimanne fell in the 24th over for a patient 33, it was 75 for five. But responsible innings from skipper Mathews and the left-handed all-rounder Chaturanga de Silva put them back on track, and victory came with an over to spare. Sri Lanka eventually maintained their 100% record in the competition - while Bangladesh contemplated an embarrassing 0%. Earlier, Anamul Haque's 49 was cut short by a superb piece of athleticism at midwicket from Thirimanne, who parried a flick above his head, then turned, sprinted and dived at full stretch to collect the rebound.
Man of the Match: A. D. Mathews.
