15-Apr-2017
At Colombo (RPS), September 9, 2016 (floodlit). Australia won by four wickets. Toss: Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka won another toss to give Dilshan the stage for his final international fixture. He received a guard of honour walking out, and generous applause when returning in the second over as man and crowd bade each other farewell. De Silva made a controlled 62, but only he and Kusal Perera reached double figures, as Faulkner and Zampa picked up six for 35 between them. Maxwell tore after the target, registering an 18-ball half-century - equalling the Australian Twenty20 international record he already shared with Warner - to bring his side to 92 for none after eight overs. Dilshan was determined to get something from his last game, and his two wickets - including one from his final delivery - were part of a late slump of six for 27, but Sri Lanka never had enough.
