India v New Zealand, 2012

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20, India v New Zealand, 2012

15-Apr-2013
At Chennai, September 11, 2012 (floodlit). New Zealand won by one run. Toss: India. Twenty20 international debut: L. Balaji.
New Zealand finally had something to celebrate, completing their only victory of a short tour by the narrowest of margins. They had also won all their three previous Twenty20 internationals against India, although at various stages they looked more than likely to lose this one. McCullum rallied his side from two for two with a spectacular 91, from just 55 balls, during which he dismantled Ashwin, India's hero during the Tests. India were well on course while Kohli was replying in kind, then the returning Yuvraj Singh thrilled his fans with a rapid 34. They needed 35 from the last four overs with seven wickets in hand, but Oram and Franklin - who successfully defended 13 in the final over - bowled beautifully.
Man of the Match: B. B. McCullum. Man of the Series: B. B. McCullum.
