Polly Inglis was 28 when she got her maiden call-up to the New Zealand side. She was, however, a part of the domestic set-up since 2012-13, when she made her List A and T20 debut for Otago.
A wicketkeeper who bats down the order, Inglis came into New Zealand reckoning following her superb performances in the 2023-24 domestic season, where she finished as the second-highest run-getter in the Women's One Day Competition, with 324 runs in ten matches, including scoring 35 not out in the final to take Otago to the title.
Following her impressive performances with the New Zealand A set-up in 2024, she was handed a central contract for the first time and was called up for the ODI series against India later that year. She eventually made her New Zealand debut in the ODIs against Sri Lanka in March 2025 and was also part of the T20Is that followed.
