Super Kings-Capitals match on schedule after rest of Capitals contingent returns negative tests
A Capitals team member reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, following which all the players and staff had to undergo a fresh round of RT-PCR tests

Sunday's match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals at the DY Patil Stadium will go ahead as scheduled after the Capitals contingent returned negative Covid-19 tests.
Earlier in the day, a Capitals member reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, following which all the players and staff had to undergo a fresh round of RT-PCR tests after being asked by IPL authorities to stay in their hotel rooms until further notice.
The news was reported by the Indian Express, which said that the person who tested positive was sharing a room with another player. Both of them have since gone into isolation. No details, including whether the person in question returned a positive rapid antigen test or a positive RT-PCR test, could be confirmed.
The news was, however, unlikely to disrupt either the Capitals' plans or that of the tournament.
Last month, after a few members of the Capitals contingent, including Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert, tested positive, the IPL conducted several rounds of PCR tests but no matches were rescheduled even though a couple of the team's matches were shifted from Pune to Mumbai to restrict travel. Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting also had to isolate in his hotel room for five days after a family member tested positive.
As per the IPL rules, any person testing positive in the tournament bubble would need to isolate for a minimum of seven days. To re-enter the bubble, the person would need to return consecutive negative PCR tests taken 24 hours apart.
Shaw hospitalised with a fever
Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has been admitted to a hospital because of a fever.
He announced, while posting a photograph of himself in a hospital bed, on Instagram that he 'will be back soon'. Shaw missed the side's previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Mandeep Singh taking his place at the top of the order. It is understood that Shaw experienced intense fever which likely forced the Capitals' medical staff to move him out of the team hotel.
