4.3 to K Mishara, lashed to cover, Mishara goes! Duckett takes the catch at the second attempt and England have an early wicket. Full and wide from Overton, Mishara was looking to give it the treatment. Maybe a cross-seam delivery which kicked up a touch. Came a little high off the bat and Duckett saw it early, got his hands above his head to parry the ball, then take it on the turn. 16/1 35.3 to J Liyanage, whipped off the toes, tumbling take from Rashid! The old boy's still got it! Liyanage stepped across to off to pick the ball off his pads as Overton angled it down the leg-side, but Rashid at deep backward square judged the pace and flight of his shot to perfection, and got his fingers cleanly under the ball as he dived to close the deal!. 151/5 | ||||||||||

44.6 to P Rathnayake, goddim, now Rathanayake holes out! Wild hack from the batter and it skewed high into the off side. Looked like he wanted to repeat the shot down the ground but it ballooned somewhere over mid-off/cover for Dawson to circle around underneath. Another timely wicket for England. 193/7 | ||||||||||

14.1 to P Nissanka, plonked into the hands of long-off! Rashid draws an error and breaks the second-wicket stand just as it was beginning to take off. Plenty of flight, the ball dropping just short of where Nissanka wanted it. He lost control of his lofted stroke, bottom hand coming off the bat, and it's a simple catch for Jacks running around to his left. 58/2 41.4 to KIC Asalanka, slogged down the throat of deep midwicket! Asalanka had had enough of knocking it around for ones and twos, decided the slog-sweep was his friend. Decent connection but he could hardly have picked out the man better. 49.2 to DN Wellalage, slogged to long-on! Not enough welly on it from Wellalage. On the charge, lofted drive down the ground, but Curran was in position to take it half a yard inside the rope. Root among the wicket-takers now. SL might get bowled out here. 219/9 49.3 to AM Fernando, sliced straight up, all over, red rover! Asitha backs away and has a mow. Comes off the toe of the bat for a dolly of a return catch in the covers. SL all out in the 50th over, but have they got enough on a Bunsen?. 219/10 | ||||||||||

The shot selection implies it was leg-sided... but was it missing? It actually pitched just short of his toe, and flicked off the top of his boot... and it's clipping leg! Vast moment in this chase! 5.4 to Rehan Ahmed, inswinger, into the timbers! A sucker punch for England's pinch-opener. A touch quicker as DDS opts for the surprise seamer, and it's a perfect length, shaping in, confounding his attempt to cut, and rushing through what remains of his defences to thump the top of off!. 20/1 19.3 to JG Bethell, chipped to cover, another one goes! And another ripple goes through the England dressing room. Floated up, the ball stops a little as Bethell steps out to drive. It's uppish but dying on Asalanka, he has to tumble forward... but scoops it up expertly. England lose a third, not quite halfway to their target. 97/3 | ||||||||||

16.5 to BM Duckett, big-turning legbreak, shatters the wicket! Duckett pays the price for going back. Drifting across and then ragging back from wide of off stump. Beats the attempted cut and rattles middle. The first tremor in this middle-overs tightrope walk. 88/2 42.4 to HC Brook, misses the sweep, that's plumb! Fuller length from Vandersay, Brook's eyes lit up as he knelt into the shot, but his front pad was like a surfboard as the ball skidded through.
