Nissanka's 122 leads Sri Lanka to 2-0 series sweep

The chase became nervy but his 90-run partnership with Asalanka turned the tide in their favour

Sri Lanka 278 for 5 (Nissanka 122, Asalanka 71, Ngarava 2-53) beat Zimbabwe 277 for 7 (Curran 79, Raza 59*, Chameera 3-52) by five wickets
Where Zimbabwe had faltered on Friday, Sri Lanka followed through in consummate fashion. Set a target of 278 in the second and final ODI in Harare, the visitors tracked it down with five wickets and three deliveries to spare. And with it, they swept the series 2-0.
Similar to the first ODI, this too went down to the wire, and like that game on Friday, the chasing side seemed in control right until the last. But here with wickets in hand, and a deep batting line-up, Sri Lanka held firm and saw the game through.

Hosein, Hales, Munro help Knight Riders consolidate CPL top spot

Tahir tried to stage a fightback with a triple-wicket over but failed to get support from his Amazon Warriors team-mates

Trinbago Knight Riders 169 for 4 (Hales 74, Munro 52, Tahir 4-27) beat Guyana Amazon Warriors 163 for 9 (Hope 39, Hosein 3-27, Hinds 2-35) by six wickets
A dominating, all-round show from Trinbago Knight Riders took down an abject Guyana Amazon Warriors to consolidate their position at the top of the points table with their fourth straight win in CPL 2025.
Akeal Hosein started the damage with the new ball early on to help restrict the Amazon Warriors to 163 before openers Colin Munro and Alex Hales put on a century opening stand, and Andre Russell put in the finishing touches. Imran Tahir's four-for caused a flutter or two but in the end the win was almost academic.

No result - Trent Rockets 12 for 0 vs Northern Superchargers 119 for 5 (Lawrence 44*)
It will be Trent Rockets, not Northern Superchargers, who face Oval Invincibles in Sunday's Hundred final at Lord's after a soggy night in south London ended in an abandonment. Showers delayed the start by 20 minutes, prompted two hour-long interruptions, and eventually wiped the game out altogether, with Rockets progressing by virtue of their higher group-stage finish.
The final call came at 9.52pm, nearly four hours yet only 80 legal balls after the scheduled 6pm start. Rockets twice started to chase adjusted targets - 134 off 75, then 105 off 55 - only for the drizzle to turn into rain, and the crowd had thinned by the time a final heavy downpour prompted umpires James Middlebrook and Martin Saggers to finally pull the plug.

Pakistan 207 all out (Ayub 69, Hasan Nawaz 56, Saghir 3-44) beat UAE 176 for 8 (Asif 77, Waseem 33, Hasan Ali 3-47) by 31 runs
Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz's firepower overwhelmed UAE as Pakistan registered their second win in as many days: a 31-run thumping of the home side in Sharjah. The pair's half-centuries did the lion's share of the work as cameos around them kept Pakistan's momentum ticking along through the first innings. A burst at the end from Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Ali carried them to 207, their joint third-highest men's T20I total.
UAE's chase was highly dependent on what their captain Muhammad Waseem could do during the powerplay. Sure enough, a blistering start kindled brief optimism as he raced along to 33, but his innings was cut down in its prime after a horrible mix-up towards the end of the first six overs.

Bangladesh 138 for 2 (Litton 54*, Saif 36*) beat Netherlands 136 for 8 (Nidamanuru 28, Taskin 4-28, Saif 2-18) by eight wickets
Taskin Ahmed, Saif Hassan and captain Litton Das played starring roles as Bangladesh eased to an eight-wicket win over Netherlands in the first T20I in Sylhet.
Taskin took four wickets and Saif, playing his first T20I since October 2023, bagged his first two T20I wickets as Bangladesh restricted the visitors to 136 after asking them to bat. Saif completed his comeback with a quickfire cameo to support Litton's brisk half-century as Bangladesh won with 6.3 overs to spare.

Munro and Pooran power Knight Riders to the top of the table

Barbados Royals stay rooted to the bottom of the table after their third loss in four games

Trinbago Knight Riders 179 for 2 (Munro 67, Pooran 65*, Warrican 1-24) beat Barbados Royals 178 for 6 (Rutherford 45, Alleyne 41, Powell 31, Russel 3-37, Amir 2-35) by seven wickets
Colin Munro and Nicholas Pooran led a clinical chase as Trinbago Knight Riders brushed aside Barbados Royals by seven wickets in Tarouba to rise to the top of the CPL 2025 table. Chasing 179, Munro set the tone with a typically aggressive 67 while Pooran finished the job in style with an unbeaten 65, wrapping up the target with 13 balls to spare. With three losses and a no-result in four matches, Royals are bottom of the table.
The foundation of the chase was laid early, as Munro and Alex Hales added 55 for the opening wicket inside the powerplay. Munro, who was the early aggressor, raced to his half-century off just 30 balls. Even after Hales fell for a 14-ball 19, off the final delivery of the sixth over, the momentum remained firmly with Knight Riders.

Salman and Rauf too good for Afghanistan in tri-series opener

Salman made a 36-ball 53 not out before Rauf's four-wicket haul, including a double-wicket maiden, sealed Afghanistan's fate

Pakistan 182 for 7 (Salman 53*, Fareed 2-47) beat Afghanistan 143 (Rashid 39, Gurbaz 38, Rauf 4-31, Afridi 2-21, Nawaz 2-23, Muqeem 2-25) by 39 runs
An unbeaten half-century from captain Salman Agha and disciplined bowling from their quartet took Pakistan to a 39-run victory in the first game of the T20I tri-series against Afghanistan. After batting first on a surface curiously supportive of quick runs in Sharjah, Pakistan flew out of the blocks before Rashid Khan dragged them back after the powerplay.
But their gameplan encourages attack right through the innings, and equipped with a deep batting line-up, Pakistan had the ammunition to keep going hard till the end. It was best summed up by their Nos. 6, 7 and 8 - Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris and Faheem Ashraf - who combined to score 50 runs in 29 balls.

Kings rise to No. 1 after Shamsi, Seifert and Charles make short work of Patriots

The defeat, despite Mohammad Rizwan's battling unbeaten 60 off 41 balls, left St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at No. 5 on the points table

St Lucia Kings 180 for 3 (Seifert 68, Charles 47, Naseem 2-35) beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots 177 for 3 (Rizwan 60*, Fletcher 37, Shamsi 2-17) by seven wickets
Tabraiz Shamsi was tough to score off, and earned himself two opportunities to show off his familiar shoe-phone celebration. Despite his 2 for 17, however, St Lucia Kings had a big chase on their hands in their CPL 2025 game against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots - 178. That Kings got there with 18 balls and seven wickets in hand was down to their openers Tim Seifert and Johnson Charles. 115 runs between them, in just 62 balls, made the chase a canter.
Just five runs came off the first over of the chase, bowled by Kyle Mayers. Charles took off after that, against Naseem Shah, and kept going. Kings got 13 off the second over, then 18 off the third, and 21 off the fifth, and finished the powerplay with 72 on the board. Seifert, who was slow to start with - having scored only a run-a-ball 15 by the fourth over - was now batting as quickly as Charles. It was all looking rather ominous for Patriots.
