Healy, Perry seal all-time classic for Australia

Australia achieved the highest successful chase in women's ODIs

Australia 331 for 7 (Healy 142, Perry 47*, Gardner 45, Charani 3-41) beat India 330 (Mandhana 80, Rawal 75, Sutherland 5-40) by three wickets
Alyssa Healy's epic 142 powered Australia to the highest successful chase in women's ODI history, leaving a packed Visakhapatnam stadium thinning very quickly towards the close as World Cup hosts India suffered a second successive heartbreak.
Two nights after failing to defend 252 against South Africa, India's decision to play just the five specialist bowlers will be debated long and hard after they were unable to work with a total of 330. Australia won with six balls to spare, and three wickets in hand; Ellyse Perry hoisting her WPL team-mate Sneh Rana down the ground to seal victory.

Imam, Masood, Rizwan and Agha fifties hand Pakistan opening-day honours

SA's spin trio of Muthusamy, Harmer and Subrayen took 4 for 248 on a Lahore pitch already showing signs of turn

Pakistan 313 for 5 (Imam 93, Masood 76, Rizwan 62*, Agha 52*, Muthusamy 2-101) vs South Africa
A 161-run second-wicket stand between Imam-ul-Haq and Shan Masood, and an undefeated 114-run sixth-wicket partnership between Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha bookended a strong opening day for Pakistan against South Africa, the World Test Champions. All four of Imam, Masood, Rizwan and Agha recorded fifties, with Imam falling seven short of what would have been a fourth Test hundred.
On a Lahore surface that showed signs of deterioration as early as the third session of the opening day, first-innings runs are considered crucial, and South Africa will be concerned by how many they conceded. Though they took three wickets for no run either side of the tea interval as Pakistan went from 199 for 2 to 199 for 5, South Africa could neither contain Pakistan for any length of time nor close things out. They also put down four catches which changed the complexion of the day.

Namibia stun South Africa in historic first meeting

Playing South Africa for the first time, and playing at the new Namibia Cricket Ground for the first time, the hosts won a last-ball thriller

Namibia 138 for 6 (Green 30*, Burger 2-21, Simelane 2-28) beat South Africa 134 for 8 (Smith 31, Trumpelmann 3-28, Heingo 2-32) by four wickets
Namibia made history in more ways than one in the one-off T20I as they inaugurated the new Namibia Cricket ground, played their neighbours South Africa for the first time in any international format, and then beat them in a thriller for good measure.
The upset came against a patchwork South Africa side, with most of the first-choice T20I players currently in Pakistan, where they will play a Test starting tomorrow. But Namibia won't care what kind of South Africa team they earned their first win against. They celebrated in front of a 4000-capacity crowd at the NCG (you read that right), complete with a lap of honour. South Africa are the fourth Full Member to be defeated by Namibia, after Zimbabwe, Ireland and Sri Lanka.

Afghanistan 190 (Zadran 95, Ghazanfar 22, Nabi 22, Mehidy 3-42) beat Bangladesh 109 (Hridoy 24, Rashid 5-17, Omarzai 3-27) by 81 runs
Afghanistan completed their third successive ODI series win against Bangladesh, all in the last three years, as they defended a modest 190 in the second ODI in Abu Dhabi. It was the lowest first-innings total at the Zayed Cricket Stadium but in response, Bangladesh folded for a mere 109.
Just like the first ODI, the Azmatullah Omarzai and Rashid Khan combination wrecked Bangladesh. Omarzai took three early wickets before Rashid's 5 for 17 blew away the Bangladesh middle and lower order. It was his sixth five-wicket haul in ODIs.

Jadeja, Kuldeep strike after Gill ton propels India to 518

West Indies gave a better account of themselves with the bat than in Ahmedabad, but India remained in control of the Delhi Test

West Indies 140 for 4 (Athanaze 41, Jadeja 3-37) trail India 518 for 5 dec (Jaiswal 175, Gill 129*, Warrican 3-98) by 378 runs
West Indies gave a better account of themselves with the bat than in Ahmedabad, but India still remained in control of the Delhi Test after Shubman Gill scored his 10th Test hundred and declared midway through the day at 518 for 5. In response, West Indies put on their first half-century stand of the series - a contrast to at least 57 for every wicket for India in this Test, Alick Athanaze posted their highest individual score of 41 and they went 43 overs with the loss of four wickets. It was an improvement after they failed to bat 50 overs in either of their innings in Ahmedabad, but they still needed 179 to avoid the follow-on.
The day began on a sour note for India when the voracious Yashasvi Jaiswal was run-out after he had added just two to his overnight 173. He was quite demonstrative in letting his partner, Gill, know it was his call and that he should be looking at him and not the ball. However, Jaiswal had hit the ball to mid-off a little too well, and Gill had been quick to turn his back. Jaiswal, though, kept going, and left himself no opportunity to recover.

Sciver-Brunt ton, Ecclestone four-for help England brush aside Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka put in a spirited display, but couldn't stop England from going top of the table

England 253 for 9 (Sciver-Brunt 117, Ranaweera 3-33) beat Sri Lanka 164 (Hasini 35, Ecclestone 4-17, Sciver-Brunt 2-25) by 89 runs
Nat Sciver-Brunt's 10th WODI hundred and a four-wicket haul from Sophie Ecclestone helped England brush past a spirited if flawed Sri Lankan side in Colombo completing a dominant 89-run win, as they made it three wins in three at the World Cup - and with it go top of the group. It was Sri Lanka's second defeat in as many games, though they have a point on board courtesy their washed out game against Australia.
Here, Sri Lanka were up against it with just 17 runs on the board when Chamari Athapaththu was stretchered off the ground after she pulled up with what looked like hamstring strain in the sixth over of the chase. It was later revealed to be nothing more than cramps impacting her right calf, allowing her to bat later in the innings, but at that point Sri Lanka might have been fearing the worst.

Devine, Halliday, bowlers give New Zealand their first win of the World Cup

Devine and Halliday's fifties took New Zealand from 38 for 3 to 227 before their bowlers bundled out Bangladesh

New Zealand 227 for 9 (Halliday 69, Devine 63, Rabeya 3-30) beat Bangladesh 127 (Fahima 34, Jess Kerr 3-21, Tahuhu 3-22) by 100 runs
The less-experienced teams have often been challenged to sustain levels of dominance over longer periods at this World Cup. Bangladesh alone have found themselves in this situation three times. While they prevailed over Pakistan in their opening game, they haven't been able to match England or New Zealand's might.
On Friday, Bangladesh's moment of reckoning was when they had woven a web around New Zealand's top order. Rabeya Khan, the legspinner, was getting them to rip and fizz off the Guwahati pitch. At 38 for 3, the moment was theirs to seize. They couldn't. Eventually, they conceded 227 for 9, which proved to be 100 too many, as New Zealand got off the mark after losses to Australia and South Africa.

Jaiswal 173 and Sai Sudharsan 87 carry India into a dominant position

On a slow Delhi pitch, the West Indies bowling was disciplined without being penetrative

India 318 for 2 (Jaiswal 173*, Sai Sudharsan 87) vs West Indies
Yashasvi Jaiswal consolidated his stature among best current Test batters with his seventh hundred, and B Sai Sudharsan moved closer to answering India's call for a No. 3 with a near-flawless 87 as they piled on 318 for 2 after their captain Shubman Gill won his first toss in seven attempts.
On a typically slow Feroz Shah Kotla track, the West Indies bowling was disciplined - no extras through the day - without being penetrative in the first and final sessions; in the middle session, they lost all accuracy as India plundered 126 runs without a wicket.

De Klerk upstages Ghosh as South Africa win thriller

Nadine de Klerk smashed an unbeaten 84 off 54 balls to hand India their first defeat in the World Cup

South Africa 252 for 7 (De Klerk 84*, Wolvaardt 70, Rana 2-47) beat India 251 (Ghosh 94, Tryon 3-32, Kapp 2-45) by three wickets
Nadine de Klerk's career-best 84* trumped Richa Ghosh's counterpunching 94 in the battle of No.8s as South Africa emerged victorious in the Women's World Cup's first thriller. South Africa completed the fifth-highest successful chase in World Cups and their eight highest in women's ODIs in a match where the advantage changed sides several times and overflowed with tension.
Put into bat, India started well when they scored 55 in the powerplay before South Africa stormed through the next 16 overs and reduced India to 102 for 6. Ghosh and Amanjot Kaur put on 51 for the seventh wicket before Ghosh and Sneh Rana, who produced a cameo of 33 from 24 balls took India to a competitive total. In their last 10 overs, India scored 98 runs which may have knocked the wind out of South Africa's sails.
