Noman, Afridi set up rousing win for Pakistan

Pakistan's nerves settled with the dismissal of Ryan Rickelton and Dewald Brevis, who threatened with a 73-run stand

Pakistan 378 and 167 (Babar 42, Muthusamy 5-57, Harmer 4-51) beat South Africa 269 and 183 (Brevis 54, Rickelton 45, Afridi 4-33, Noman 4-79) by 93 runs
Ultimately, reality had to bite. 276 has never been chased at the Gaddafi, and the prospect has become even more unlikely since Pakistan pivoted to rapidly deteriorating spin tracks. South Africa gamely hung around till deep into the middle session, but they had been cut too far adrift, and kept losing too many wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi polished off the tail after Pakistan's spinners made early inroads, sealing a 93-run win that breaks South Africa's record 10-Test win streak.
Pakistan's nerves had been settled at lunch with the dismissal of the dangerous and the dogged - Ryan Rickelton and Dewald Brevis both falling to superb deliveries from Sajid Khan and Noman Ali. Senuran Muthuswamy was trapped in front shortly after the resumption, and for the next half hour both sides appeared to be going through the motions. Kyle Verreynne and Simon Harmer hung around without really making a charge towards the total, while Pakistan's spin kept plugging away, but without the intensity before the break. Slowly, South Africa edged past Pakistan's third innings total, the first time since Pakistan have prepared these tracks that the fourth innings has outscored the third.

Afghanistan 293 for 9 (Zadran 95, Nabi 62*, Saif 3-6) beat Bangladesh 93 (Saif 43, Sami 5-33, Rashid 3-12) by 200 runs
Afghanistan completed their decimation of Bangladesh, wrapping up a 3-0 ODI series win with a 200-run win in the third game in Abu Dhabi. After managing to put up 293 for 9, they shot out Bangladesh for just 93. Afghanistan's ODI series win comes by the same margin as Bangladesh's in the T20Is.
After Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi bookended Afghanistan's batting effort with excellent half-centuries, seamer Bilal Sami took his maiden five-wicket haul. But much of the rout came about once again due to Rashid Khan, who took three wickets in his first three overs.

Washout dulls Sri Lanka's high after Nilakshika Silva's rapid fifty lifts them to 258

New Zealand could not face any overs of their chase after Sri Lanka scored 80 in the final ten overs, reaching their second-highest total at a World Cup

No result Sri Lanka 258 for 6 (Nilakshika 55, Athapaththu 53, Devine 3-54) vs New Zealand
Nilakshika Silva struck the fastest fifty at this World Cup to boost a flagging Sri Lankan innings, after it looked like they were in danger of squandering their best start with the bat all tournament. It proved to be in vain, as rain washed out the game after the completion of the first innings. The result leaves them and New Zealand sharing one point apiece.
Silva's knock perfectly complemented a half-century from Chamari Athapaththu and meant that, having opted to bat first in Colombo, Sri Lanka managed to post a very competitive 258 for 6.

Noman puts Pakistan in driver's seat on 16-wicket day

South Africa are 51 for 2 and need to pull off the second-highest successful chase in Pakistan to win the Lahore Test

South Africa 51 for 2 (Rickelton 29*, Noman 2-20) and 269 (de Zorzi 104, Noman 6-112, Sajid 3-98) need another 226 runs to beat Pakistan 167 (Babar 42, Muthusamy 5-57, Harmer 4-51) and 378 (Agha 93, Imam 93, Muthusamy 6-117)
Pakistan are eight wickets away from ending South Africa's ten-match winning streak in Test cricket after asking them to complete the highest successful chase in Lahore and second-highest in Pakistan. A target of 277 looks far away with the visitors 51 for 2 at stumps on the third day.
In a match that has played to script, Pakistan won the toss, batted first, took a 109-run innings lead and scored quickly in their second go to leave South Africa in a battle for survival. Spinners have been the key protagonists, led by Senuran Muthusamy who finished with career-best match figures of 11 for 174, including a second five-for. Muthusamy's haul is the fourth-best by a South African spinner but that is unlikely to be enough to help them win the game.

India 58 runs away from 2-0 sweep of West Indies

Having been set 121 to win, India only briefly tried to finish the match on the fourth evening, ending on 63 for 1

India 518 for 5 dec and 63 for 1 (Sai Sudharsan 30*, Rahul 25*, Warrican 1-15) need a further 58 runs to beat West Indies 248 and 390 (Campbell 115, Hope, 103, Greaves 50*, Bumrah 3-44, Kuldeep 3-104)
India wanted to get out of the joint as soon as possible when they enforced the follow-on less than halfway into the match, but 200 continuous overs of bowling on an unyielding pitch later, India will have to come back on the fifth morning to complete the win. Having been set 121 to win, India only briefly tried to finish the match on the fourth evening, ending on 63 for 1.
Signs that it was going to be hard work was apparent when the last two West Indies wickets hung around for 25.2 overs in the first innings, but India disregarded the conditions when asking their bowlers to go back in after having bowled 81.5 overs. India perhaps expected West Indies to roll over, but they dug in: John Campbell brought up his maiden century, Shai Hope scored his first in eight years, and the last wicket added 79 in their second-best partnership of 2025.

Tryon, de Klerk, Kapp snatch thrilling win for South Africa

Bangladesh fought hard through the game, but missed chances under pressure as de Klerk sealed another chase

South Africa 235 for 7 (Tryon 62, Kapp 56, de Klerk 37*, Nahida 2-44) beat Bangladesh 232 for 6 (Shorna 51*, Sharmin 50, Mlaba 2-42) by three wickets
For the second match running, Nadine de Klerk produced the crucial winning hand - an unbeaten 37 from 29 balls, albeit with several huge slices of late luck - as South Africa outmuscled a spirited Bangladesh to seal a thriller by three wickets and with three balls to spare in Visakhapatnam.
The final result mirrored their previous win over India on this same ground on Thursday, but the manner in which it was secured was significantly less assured. Against a potent attack led by Nahida Akter and Ritu Moni, Chloe Tryon produced a priceless knock of 62 from 69 balls, with Marizanne Kapp also chipping in with a hard-fought fifty. However, the final difference between the teams came down to Bangladesh's fielding under pressure with a succession of crucial chances going down in the fraught final overs.

Noman Ali makes spinroads into South Africa's resistance

The spinner picked up four of the six SA wickets to fall after Pakistan were dismissed for 378

South Africa 216 for 6 (De Zorzi 81*, Rickelton 71, Noman 4-85) trail Pakistan 378 (Agha 93, Imam 93, Masood 76, Muthusamy 6-117) by 162 runs
After a productive morning for Senuran Muthusamy, who took a six-wicket haul, saw Pakistan dismissed for 378, South Africa had done their best not to allow Pakistan's spinners to blow them away early doors. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton saw off the new ball, building a stable opening partnership that inched towards fifty by the 12th over. But Noman, and spin in general, was always a threat. Markram ensured an umpiring decision was overturned when Rod Tucker deemed him to have nicked off to Rizwan, but two balls later, Noman served up another flighted delivery that spun away, and on that occasion it took Markram's outside edge with it.

Hope and Campbell fight back after Kuldeep five-for forces WI to follow on

India ended day three in Delhi still in the lead by 97 runs

West Indies 248 (Athanaze 41, Kuldeep 5-82) and 173 for 2 (f/o) (Campbell 87*, Hope 66*) trail India 518 for 5 dec (Jaiswal 175, Gill 129*, Sai Sudharsan 87, Warrican 3-98) by 97 runs
West Indies made it to the second new ball for the first time this year, they registered their highest partnership for the year - an unbroken 138 between John Campbell and Shai Hope, Campbell became their first half-centurion of the series with a career-best 87, Hope scored his first half-century in 31 innings, but for all that good work they still needed 97 runs to make India bat again in Delhi. Kuldeep Yadav conjured a fifth Test five-for on a docile pitch to allow India to enforce the follow-on, but the temptation to finish the match early only resulted in hard work for the bowlers: India have now taken four wickets in their last 75.2 overs.
India were not in immediate danger of falling behind in the Test, but they will question if they had been complacent in enforcing the follow-on: when you do so midway into the third day, having bowled 81.5 overs already, there must be an element of expecting the opposition to roll over. India were then left riding two boats: trying to get the wicket but also preserving their bowlers, which meant Jasprit Bumrah didn't bowl in the first 32 overs of the second innings.
