A superb opening stand of 188 between Paul Walter and Dean Elgar stunned champions Surrey at the Kia Oval after they had looked to be in control of the Rothesay County Championship fixture.
Walter was the main aggressor, hitting 19 fours in his 118, and former South Africa opener Elgar, though never comfortable at the crease, simply used all his experience to scrap his way his 60 not out from159 balls.

A record-breaking partnership between Rehan Ahmed and Lewis Hill gave league-leading Leicestershire a dominant position at the end of the second day of the Rothesay County Championship match against Lancashire at the Uptonsteel County Ground.
Ahmed, with his first-class best of 136, and Hill, whose 119 was his first three-figure score for two seasons, put on 256 for the third wicket, a championship-best for Leicestershire's third wicket against Lancashire, beating a record dating back to 1929.

Only twice in 22 attempts before Saturday night had Delhi Capitals (DC) successfully chased down a total of 200 or more. By hunting down 207 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Jaipur, they not only saw a 21-year-old Sameer Rizvi hit his maiden IPL fifty in a winning cause but also dented PBKS' hopes of a top-two finish this season.
The defeat still leaves PBKS at No. 2 on the points table, but with every chance of them finishing third and thus having to play the Eliminator if results in the upcoming matches don't go their way.

Pakistani Test seamer Abbas was the chief protagonist with 6 for 45 from 17.3 overs - four of his wickets coming either side of lunch to secure a 49th career first-class haul of five wickets or more - as Yorkshire were bowled out for 159 in reply to a first-innings 228.

John Simpson's 18th first-class century put Hampshire on the ropes before a batting collapse put Sussex on the brink of a Rothesay County Championship victory at Utilita Bowl.
Skipper Simpson was superb to record back-to-back centuries, and his third of the campaign, as he scored 106 - which included a 173-run stand with 78-maker Fynn Hudson-Prentice. Sussex claimed a 143-run first-innings lead before six evening wickets tore through Hampshire - they closed on 114 for 6, still behind by 29.

Harrison, on loan from Nottinghamshire, shared a ninth-wicket partnership of 90 with Liam Guthrie as the home side posted a daunting total of 469, built around Saif Zaib's career-high 159.

England began their home international summer with a comprehensive win over Zimbabwe after bowling them out twice inside five sessions and finishing the four-day Test with more than a day to spare. Offspinner Shoaib Bashir, playing in his 16th Test, headlined the final day with his fourth Test five-for - the most by an England player before turning 22 - and second in Nottingham.
The magnitude of the defeat did not wipe the smiles off the faces of the visitors and their boisterous fans, who filled Trent Bridge with noise and colour, and stayed to applaud them in a lap of gratitude afterwards. This was Zimbabwe's first Test in England in 22 years and a strong expat crowd delighted in brave batting from Sean Williams, Ben Curran, Sikandar Raza and Wessly Madhevere.

Three wickets from Em Arlott, playing just her second international match, decimated West Indies as England ran away with victory in the second T20I at Hove and an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match series.
Arlott's impressive spell accounted for key batters Hayley Matthews, who had scored 100 of her side's 146 runs in the first game at Canterbury, and Stafanie Taylor, who had returned from injury to bolster the tourists' line-up. She also removed Zaida James, courtesy of one of two strong catches by Sophia Dunkley, and took a catch of her own to dismiss Shemaine Campbelle, the West Indies' highest scorer for the match with just 26.

Kusal Perera thumped 61 off 35, Mohammad Naeem struck 50 off 25, and despite having qualified fourth into the playoffs, Lahore Qalandars leapt into the final, with their second big win in as many nights.
With Abdullah Shafique, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Asif Ali also making strong contributions, Qalandars amassed 202 for 8. On a Gaddafi track that was decent for batting, but had a little zip in it for the quicks, this was way too much for Islamabad United, who nosedived to 107 all out, without ever looking like they could threaten the target.
