Allrounder

Allrounder Erin Burns, a hard-hitting batter and offspin bowler, earned her Australia opportunity after a long stint in domestic cricket. Her career took her from her native New South Wales, to seven years in Tasmania and then the ACT before returning home although by then was part of the Sydney Sixers set-up in the WBBL.

It was her WBBL form in the 2018-19 season that helped earn her a place on the Australia A tour of England in 2019 which ran concurrent with the Ashes series. A few months later she was included for the tour of West Indies and made her debut ODI debut in Antigua, followed a week later by her first T20I appearance.

Given the strength of Australia's top order opportunities were limited - it took until her fifth international outing to get to the crease - but she earned a place in the 2020 T20 World Cup squad although her preparation was hampered by a knee injury and she did not play a match in the tournament.

Alongside cricket, she has a career as a physiotherapist.
