A left-hand wicketkeeper-batter from Karnataka, Krishnan Shrijith made an impact in domestic cricket at a relatively older age of 28 in the 2024-25 season. He had made his senior professional debut in early 2021, but finally turned the tide nearly four years later when he got his Ranji Trophy debut and also maiden IPL contract, with Mumbai Indians (MI) at the mega auction, in late 2024.

Shrijith started his first-class career with a century against UP, a big step up after being called a white-ball specialist early in his career after coming through Karnataka's age-group system. He even said later that he had given up hopes of getting a Ranji call-up. Srijith followed it with his maiden one-day century, a 101-ball 150 to help Karnataka chase down 383 against Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Having grown up watching Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, Shrijith now hopes to emulate them on the big stage.
