Deon Kruis, the seam bowler, has left Yorkshire after failing to agree a new deal. He has been a Kolpak player since 2005, when he was the club's leading wicket-taker - a feat he repeated in 2006.
"It is a great shame that an agreement could not be reached with Deon to keep him at Yorkshire next season," Yorkshire's chief executive, Stewart Regan, said. "He's a fine player and a terrific person and everyone at the club wishes Deon and his family well in the future.
"Although his departure is a loss to the club it does provide our youngsters with an added incentive to work hard over the winter with Deon's place in the first team squad up for grabs."
Kruis was awarded his county cap in 2006, but he has struggled with injuries over the last couple of seasons. However, he made one last match-winning performance for Yorkshire, in the Pro40 against Northamptonshire, to help secure promotion with a spell of 4 for 3 in 15 balls.
