Sydney Sixers win by eight wickets with five overs to spare. An almost perfect all-round display. Josh Philippe will take the headlines, and rightly so, but it was an excellent performance in the field that set up the match. All the Sixers bowlers played their part and they were very good in the field. The Scorchers just not at the races today. Plenty of them to think about. "He's a freak," Daniel Hughes says of Philippe. So the Sixers have laid down an early marker. I'll wrap things up there for tonight. We'll be back tomorrow as the defending champions Melbourne Renegades face Sydney Thunder. Until then, it's goodbye and thanks for joining us.

on the roof of the ladies stand! What a way to finish it That's a thunderous blow to secure a crushing victory. The ball is lodged into the gutter, Philippe picking this off the stumps and whipping it miles over deep midwicket. What a shot, what an innings

Jordan to Vince, OUT

this looks like a great catch! Vince whips across the line of a full delivery, sounds like an inside out, Inglis grabs it one-handed, low to his left. The umpires converge. The soft signal is out. Well, not sure Vince has hit this, might have hit the ground. Hang on, it may have clipped leg stump! It's been taken cleanly. This isn't DRS, remember, it's just the umpires checking. And third umpire confirms the out decision. That will keep the umpiring debate going!

And the timeout is called. If I'm honest, can't see it making a massive difference
