48.5 to Mohammad Nawaz, Pitches it too full and way outside off, Nawaz looks to deposit this over deep point but Hassan dives forward to complete the catch and removes the batter. 250/7
10 | 2 | 50 | 1 | 5.00 | 37 | 5 | 1 | 2 | 1 | |
40.6 to Shadab Khan, Bowled! Mujeeb never allowed Shadab to score against him in this spell. A quicker, carrom ball on the leg stump, Shadab moves away to hit, looking to up the ante, but completely misses it as the ball takes the top of middle stump. Important wicket for Afghanistan. 189/6
9 | 1 | 36 | 2 | 4.00 | 32 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
8.6 to Fakhar Zaman, High, goes very high in the air and extra cover runs back to complete a very good catch! Fakhar was done in by the previous two balls and looked for a release shot but Naib bowled that cleverly. On a length well outside off away from his hitting arc. Fakhar jumps down the track and swings through the line. But gets it off the bottom of the blade, miscuing it straight up. Riaz Hassan takes a good catch running back. 36/1 12.5 to Imam-ul-Haq, Edged and gone! Naib has his second wicket of the day. Excellent bowling, this is from the right-arm medium pacer. Kept testing the batters with his line and length. Bowls a short ball outside offstump, Imam goes for a wild swing after coming down the track and gets a thick edge to keeper. 52/2
10 | 1 | 42 | 1 | 4.20 | 34 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
36.5 to Babar Azam, And the fifth one gets Babar! Lovely legbreak floated outside off. Babar stays back and feebly pats it without moving his feet much. Think he was anticipating a googly, but turned out to be a legbreak. Spins and catches Babar's outside edge with Gurbaz completing a simple catch.. 162/3
10 | 0 | 70 | 2 | 7.00 | 28 | 7 | 1 | 4 | 0 | |
39.2 to Mohammad Rizwan, Loud, loud appeal for lbw as Rizwan is caught in the crease as he misses a flick. The umpire takes his time and agrees. Rizwan though has opted for the review. Looked close on first glance. That was a length ball angled in on middle and will that angle save him? Nope it doesn't. No bat but ball-tracker confirms the ball would have hit the outer part of the leg stump. Pakistan do not lose the review, as it was an umpire's call, but Rizwan has to depart for 67. 184/5 49.5 to Faheem Ashraf, Easy catch for Gurbaz. Slow short ball outside off, Ashraf looks to pull this over legside, mistimes it and gets a top edge to keeper. 266/8

45.6 to Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Hit wicket to remove Mujeeb! His innings come to a dramatic end. Full ball on leg stump, he goes back to flick it past short line and ends up hitting the stumps with his legs. Huge cheer for Mujeeb as he walks off the field. 199/9 48.4 to Fareed Ahmad, That's the end of Afghanistan innings. Shaheen bowls a full toss, Fareed moves away to scoop this but he can't connect as the ball hits his middle stump. 209/10
8 | 1 | 43 | 2 | 5.37 | 33 | 4 | 2 | 1 | 0 | |
5.2 to Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Straighter on middle, Gurbaz misses, is rapped on the pads and given out by the on-field umpire. Was that going down leg? Gurbaz has reviewed. No bat; on we go the ball-tracker. And that returns an umpire's call. Similar to what we had for Rizwan. It was a length ball that Gurbaz missed. Replays confirm the ball would have taken out the top part of the leg stump.. 17/1 9.6 to Ibrahim Zadran, Finally an edge and Zadran falls for a 11-ball duck! Faheem keeps the good length going. Wobble-seam outside off. That comes in just a touch and catches Zadran's outside edge. Rizwan does the rest.. 30/2

20.1 to Riaz Hassan, Shadab strikes at a crucial time! Tossed up on middle, spun away just a moment, Hassan goes for a slog sweep to but doesn't time it well and top edges to Fakhar at deep square leg. 60/3 20.4 to Hashmatullah Shahidi, Two wickets in an over! Afghanistan are sinking further. Length ball on middle and off, Shahidi looks to pull this away but only manages to get the toe end of the bat to it as the ball goes straight into Imam's hands at midwicket. Trouble, trouble, Afghanistan. 61/4 39.1 to Shahidullah, Loud appeal for lbw, and this time the umpire raises his finger! Full, bang on middle. He eyes the sweep, misses and is caught right in front. No DRS, so he has to go right away. Don't think a review would have saved him, though. That was crashing in middle stump.. 154/8
2 | 0 | 3 | 1 | 1.50 | 9 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
21.4 to Gulbadin Naib, Five down for Afghanistan! Pitches it full and wide of off, Naib doesn't moves his feet much as he tries to poke at it and ends up getting caught behind. Very good catch by Rizwan, too. Naib walks away even before the umpire's decision. 62/5
9 | 0 | 45 | 2 | 5.00 | 29 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
28.4 to Mohammad Nabi, Lofted straight to Imam-ul-Haq, who dives forward and completes a good catch. That was angled on middle and leg. Nabi backs away looking to go inside out, but can't get the elevation. Imam stretches forward and grabs the ball inches off the ground. 75/6 32.1 to Rashid Khan, Nawaz gets Rashid and AFG are seven down! That gripped and turn outside off. Rashid goes back looking to pull it away, can only get a top-edge that balloons straight for Shaheen to take a simple catch at short third.. 97/7 |
