down the track again, and this time the line is straighter. Kohli just whips it away over midwicket one bounce and over the rope, and he's piloted India home with a supremely controlled innings
11.10pm And that is that. An excellent performance from India, who are now through to the final? Who will join them there? Sri Lanka still have an outside chance, but they will need to beat Pakistan and hope that Pakistan beat Bangladesh. Lots of possibilities, so do join us for the rest of the tournament. Until next time, bye!
MS Dhoni: "I think consistent performance is very important. In the last 9-10 T20s we have played, we have done well. It was good to see a few of the others contributing as well. Yuvraj Singh's innings was crucial, not just for this match but for the team as well, good to see him get into some good form. Today's wicket was harder than some of the other wickets, but it was still a little soft, which allows the ball to grip and move around. It was good today, because you at least know it will be there for four overs or five overs. Overall, it was a track that was testing initially for the batsmen, but later on it was quite easy."
Virat Kohli is the man of the match. "Touchwood, it's coming out nicely now. Another crunch situation, 16 for 2. It's nice to challenge yourself. Kulasekara and Angie were bowling well. I knew I'm striking the ball well, so I have to take the pressure off the other batsman by hitting the odd boundary, but it has to be a cricketing shot. [Stepping out of the crease] was the plan, because all their seam bowlers bowl that good length. Except Chameera, the rest are all seam bowlers, so it was important not to let them bowl that length. If you're set on 25-30, the ball full of dew is a wonder, but when the ball changes you need to adjust with your bat flow and check your shot sometimes."
Angelo Mathews: "With the dew coming in, it felt like we were 20-25 runs short, but the Indians batted well, as always, and Virat was outstanding. If the wicket was like the previous one, it would have been a fighting total, but the dew came in and the ball started sliding through. We are depending heavily on our seniors, with the side we have. The seniors need to fire, otherwise we're in trouble."
"Felt pretty good," says Yuvraj Singh. "I needed those hits for my confidence. Not the easiest wicket to bat on, you need to go there and give yourself some time. My job was to go and play the situation, this game and the last game. Just happy I'm hitting the ball well."
WalidNisar: "Yuvraj has now more T20I sixes than Boom Boom Shahid Afridi"
Ishan Jain: "With this innings, Kohli's avg in T20Is has again crossed 50. Its 51.03 now."
Talha Hameed: "Most fifties in T20Is: Virat Kohli 13, Brendon McCullum 13, Gayle 13. "
Santosh: "Had Mathews already given up? Siriwardana instead of Kula and himself?"
10.51pm And with that India are through to the final. Sri Lanka dismissed both openers cheaply, and threatened to make a game of this, but Kohli, Raina and Yuvraj batted smartly to steer India home with a fair degree of ease.
down the track, and he can't force this whippy drive past the packed cover field
Everyone's in the circle now.
down the track and this time Siriwardana fires it in full and straight, clipped to long-on
down the track, and Kohli gets to fifty with a super shot. Flat-bats this wide-ish length ball cleanly over the covers
length ball on middle stump, and that's the other side of Dhoni. Presses forward, just puts his bat in the ball's path, with a slightly closed face, and dabs gently into the midwicket region for a quick single
down the track, and Dhoni just dismisses that from his presence. Reaches the pitch of this off stump ball and whips his wrists through the line to launch it straight back over the bowler's head
tossed up close to off stump, Dhoni plays a whippy drive to short cover
length ball angling into middle stump, clipped away through midwicket
Siriwardana. Interesting move to bring him on now, this late in the innings.
quickish and flat on off stump, Dhoni stretches out to block it
Here's Dhoni. India need 14 from 13.
bowled him! Herath has just worked Pandya over here. Bowled it much quicker, on a good length, and got it to straighten. Pandya's front shoulder opens up again as he looks to whip across the line, and the ball beats his outside edge and pegs back off stump
down the track now and Herath holds his length back slightly. Goes over the top, chips into the gap between sweeper cover and long-off
lovely flight on middle and leg. Pandya is opened up a little, looks to drive to long-on, ends up driving back to the bowler
flighted ball on off and middle, driven to short extra cover
tossed up on leg stump, steps down the track, gets inside the line, and drives with a straight bat to long-off
Rakesh Souriraj: "When Yuvi fires , this Indian team looks even more dominating . They are real title contenders."
full outside off, driven to sweeper cover
Here's Hardik Pandya.
Rishabh : "I'm a big fan of Yuvraj no doubt , but I feel Manish Pandey should be given a chance ahead of him. It was really painful to watch Yuvraj against Pakistan. He isn't the Yuvraj of 2007 or 2011. He is the Yuvraj who struggles against pace and is unreliable."
digs it in short now, and that's a well-directed bouncer. Yuvraj takes his eye off the ball a little while swiveling to hook, and top-edges to the man at fine leg
shot! That's right in Yuvraj's slot, full, giving him swinging room outside off, and he swings freely through the line to lift it over the wide mid-off region
full and wide, slapped to deep point
jumps down the track, making room to hit inside-out. The ball isn't quite full enough, on off stump, and he drags it to mid-on off the inside half of his bat
The dew has left the ball totally sodden. The umpires are having a look at it. Not sure if they've changed it or not.
shortish outside off, and Kohli loses his 100% control. Not sure if it kept a little low, but he inside-edged his pull down past his off stump to the fine leg boundary
Not sure if it was just that last ball or right through the over, but Yuvraj was taking stance deep inside his crease to Chameera.
