run-out, short on middle, pulled away towards deep midwicket, gets to the fielder on the bounce, Raqibul fires in a strong throw to the striker's end as Chigumbura attempts the second, appears to be a direct hit from the deep, Mushfiqur's hands are extremely close to the stumps and it might just be that he's knocked the stumps down before the ball made contact, it's a close call but the third umpire gives it out. It was a direct hit but Mushfiqur was too close to the stumps as the ball made contact. However, the decision's been made and Bangladesh have won
Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh, 2nd ODI at Bulawayo, Aug 11 2009 - Match Result
Zimbabwe's fighting effort is in vain. Chigumbura had too much to do with too few wickets in hand and had the fielding display from the hosts - they let off Shakib twice - been better, we may well have had a closer result. However, they'll take pride in the manner in which they went about chasing the big score though they'll expect much more from the top order. Williams and Coventry played superbly but they were under pressure throughout and had to build their innings after Bangladesh had made inroads. It's a 2-0 lead for the visitors in the five-match series and Shakib, with a century and two wickets, remains the favourite to be named the Man of the Match. We'll get you the presentation details in a bit. Lovemore Banda, lovely name, is the host at the presentation.
Utseya: "We didn't bowl enough good balls in the morning and didn't vary our pace a lot. The middle order had a lot to do and we lost too many wickets early. We need to keep learning from our mistakes through we put in a much improved performance today."
Shakib: "We've been playing good cricket and hopefully we'll play just as well in the next game. Every time I come in to play, I keep getting better. Hope this continues. We need to improve in all three departments, but mainly fielding and bowling."
Shakib's also the Man of the Match. That's all we have from here, folks. Thanks for tuning in and sending us your comments. Until the next ODI on the 14th, a must-win game for the hosts, it's goodbye from all of us here at Cricinfo. Adios!
What can Chigumbura pull off from here on? He can't allow Rainsford any of the strike. Rasel, whom he's managed to smack around, has been given the ball.
big appeal as he fires it hard on middle and leg, gets forward to defend, is struck on the pads but the umpire is unmoved this time, would have been going down
dropped, flighted outside off, tried to open the face as it spun away, took the outside edge and Mushfiqur was late to react moving to his right
Too much of a burden now on Chigumbura to do it all alone. Rainsford comes out
he's given him! Chigumbura's running out of partners, round the wicket, slow through the air, pitched in line with middle and leg but didn't appear to straighten, Price went for the heave through midwicket, missed and was rapped on the pads, could have been sliding down
flat and quick on the off, driven with a full face towards extra cover for a single
shortish on middle, the arm ball, punched back to the bowler
quickish on the of stump, chips it down towards long-on for a single
full on middle and leg, flicked away just wide of deep square leg, keeps them down to just a single sliding to his right
lands safe, another length delivery on middle, Chigumbura swings it hard but doesn't get the elevation, long-on does well to block it inside the ropes, just a single
slower one bowled full on leg stump, worked away to short fine for a single
shortish on middle and leg, works it wide of midwicket for just a single
six more, doling out freebies to Chigumbura here, length ball on middle and leg, gets under it nicely and smashes it over long-on, the game is still on
shortish on leg stump, pushed to midwicket at the edge of the circle, makes it just in time
flighted, full outside off, cracked straight to cover who's right at the edge of the circle, he fumbles but they don't risk the single
swings hard, it's tossed up outside off, lands just short of deep midwicket, a single taken
Ray Price is the new man in
Another encouraging stand comes to an end. Chigumbura's the man in the hot seat now. Just one boundary for Matsikenyeri in his innings of 39.
Shakib strikes! Fired it full on middle, Matsikenyeri struck it hard but straight back to the bowler, didn't get the desired elevation and Shakib reacted well to his right to pouch a sharp one
flighted outside off, slow through the air, slog-swept towards deep midwicket, gets to him on the bounce and some poor throwing allows them to get back for the second
short on middle and off, pushed back to the bowler from the crease
short of a length outside off, punched off the back foot through extra cover but mid-off had it well covered
gets it right this time, in the blockhole outside off, dug out wide of extra cover for one more, 12 off the over, better than required
