Tye takes a hat trick! Bowls him! Another slower ball knuckle ball, he swings hard but misses and it crashes into off stump! What a way to finish for the Scorchers!
Scorchers vs Heat, 23rd Match at Brisbane, Jan 11 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
The Scorchers rocket to the top of the table with a very good win. They defend so well. The total of 156 was built on the back of a masterclass from Michael Klinger. The Heat bowled very well with slower balls into the wicket forcing the Scorchers to hit to the long boundaries and Klinger responded with great placement and hard running. The Scorchers then bowled brilliantly up front led by Mitchell Johnson. Jhye Richardson got the key wicket of McCullum. Agar was very miserly through the middle overs and Tye finished the job. It was a very professional performance with the ball.
Michael Klinger is man of the match: "We just had to adapt to the conditions with the big boundaries and sometimes you have to play a different type of innings.
"Back of a length balls skidded on, they didn't sit up and it made it hard to pull.
"I thought our bowlers bowled so well up front."
The Scorchers host the Melbourne Stars on Saturday while the Heat don't play again until next Wednesday, also against the Stars. The Heat may have an issue as Brendon McCullum could be suspended to due slow over-rates. He was on a warning and they were slow again tonight but Whiteman's concussion and some strange boundary reviews did add to the slow over-rate.
Thanks for your company tonight. Join us again tomorrow night when the Melbourne Renegades host the Hobart Hurricanes.
