steps out, gets a full-toss outside off, reaches out and slaps it away to long-off's right. Khulna drag themselves off the bottom of the points table and climb to third
Khulna vs Chattogram, 11th match at Dhaka, Nov 12 2017 - Match Result
This is the highest match aggregate (322) involving Chattogram & Khulna in T20s
Ariful Haque and Brathwaite's 55-run partnership is KT's highest for the 6th wicket in T20s, breaking the record of 48 between Ariful Haque and Pooran
4.30pm How crucial were those lat blows from Haque and Brathwaite? They plundered 55 in 3.3 overs to lift Khulna to 170. Chittagong's batsmen never really got going in the chase, eventually coming up short by 18 runs. Abu Jayed did the damage upfront with three wickets in his first two overs. He then returned to end a scratchy innings from Misbah. Archer then nailed the yorkers and cutters in the end to help seal victory.
Misbah: I think the bowlers gave away so many runs in the last few overs, and that cost us the game. And we lost early wickets with the bat. 150-155 could have been the total after we took four wickets. At the end, only 18 runs difference, and there are some positives.
Mahmudullah: We handed the pressure well. Haque batted well, and in the end Carlos also. I think it was a good pitch to bat first though it is tough to predict Mirpur wickets. Rossouw's catch gave us good momentum in the match.
Abu Jayed is the Man of the Match: I just tried my level best and I am happy with my bowling. It is tough to bowl in the Powerplays, but the pitch is slow, and I tried slower balls.
"I have just broken a couple of stumps," Archer says. It does not happen so often. That yorker came out as good as it can be. The way the team has comeback in the last two games has been good."
Mahneel: "Great captaincy by Mahmudullah as always. Coming in and resisting a collapse while keeping the scoreboard ticking, making great bowling changes and withstanding the urge to bring himself in to the bowling attack. All round stuff by Khulna!"
Saadat Ahmadzai: "Clearly CHV is missing one or two big hitters at the middle and lower order to accompany Misbah"
That is all we have for you from this match. Hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we did bringing to you. Do tune in for the second match of the day between Rajshahi and Comilla. Until then, goodbye
Janal: "If u all are wondering how and why KT picked Jofra Archer, Mahela Jayawardena who is the coach of KT now, played for Sussex in the recent NatWest T20 Blast, and realized he was an amazing talent."
lifter outside off, hooked away to deep midwicket
dragged short and outside off, swatted across the line to deep midwicket
back of a length and cuts away outside off, beats the batsman. Slower one
full and outside off, hacked to deep midwicket
back of a length on middle, clears his front leg and slogs it away to deep midwicket
back of a length and outside off, this is chipped over the bowler's head
the batsman makes room outside leg, Archer drags his length and hits the thigh with a quick, short ball
really full and outside off - not quite a yorker, squeezed to cover
slower ball, but the length is slightly short, Tabir reads the change-up and swats it across the line to the square-leg boundary
another yorker, 140.5ks on middle, dug out. Really impressed with Archer. Great talent
Archer, you beauty! He tears in from around the wicket and sends down a pinpoint yorker, dips late, breaches through the defences and clatters into splinters the middle stump. Shades of Chris Jordan in Archer. He is super quick, and is an excellent fielder to boot. The comparisons don't end there: Archer is from Barbados and plays for Sussex as well
low full-toss on off, which is shovelled away to deep midwicket
full-toss outside off, slugged away to wide long-off
full-toss wide outside off, reaches out and slices it square through the off side
length ball outside off, Reece clears his front leg and pings it straight back over the bowler's head, and beats long-on to his right
off-side wide
full and outside off, the left-hander stays still and lofts it over the bowler's head. Nice, clean strike
yorker on middle, dug out
Kapil: "30 off 37 balls, what a wasted effort. Any quality overseas batsman who had batted for 37 balls would have scored at least 50, so that target would have been 44 off 30, mostly manageable. I'm not sure why are Vikings holding on to Misbah of all people"
really full on the leg stump, squeezed to square leg
