slaps this to Simmons mid-off, chances a single and makes it. The direct hit at the bowler's end has been missed. Simmons has had a shocker on the field. He fumbled the ball initially, then panicky threw into Sammy/Pollard's feet. Second win in as many games for Jamaica Tallawahs as they go top of the table.
Stars vs Tallawahs, 7th Match at Kingston, Aug 14 2018 - Match Result
Tallawahs won by 6 wickets (with 2 balls remaining)
That's that from me here on the commentary desk. Hope you enjoyed the coverage. The fun and frolic continues. Hope to see you tomorrow for another match from another venue. Until then, it's goodbye. Cheers!
So, Stars are now winless for 14 matches, a streak stretching back to July 16. Change in personnel, change in captain - nothing seems to be working. This is now their third loss in as many matches this season. Going into their home leg at the Darren Sammy Stadium, there's plenty of work to do. For starters, St Lucia should've made much more than the 175 they managed, especially after being 85 for 2 at the halfway mark. Then on the field, they dropped catches, misfielded, bowled very poorly and saw a rampaging batting unit blaze away. There was some brief artificial excitement there towards the end, but Tallawahs were always one blow away from releasing the pressure. More misery for Pollard and his boys. How can they bounce back?
Adam Zampa is the Player of the Match for his 3 for 27.
that should be it! Six under pressure and it's his favourite leg side again that clinches it. This is too full, Taylor walks a step across and whips this to the deep midwicket boundary. Superb
swing and a miss. Taylor looked to swing wildly across the line, can't lay bat to ball. Seven from four.
Taylor has looked rusty. Can Pollard stop him? Pressure building, you'd however still back the chasing team in such a scenario
this is high but the man coming in from sweeper cover can't get there. Single to begin the final over.
stunning effort by Pollard, who runs around the ropes at long-on and then dishes in a full-length dive to stop the ball and parry it to the man running around from deep midwicket
slower length ball which he looks to turn to the leg side, hit on the stomach but they scoot a leg bye
looks to go over cover, gets a thick inside edge back past the bowler.
works this into the leg side towards deep midwicket
Kiran asks: "Can you imagine if the best XI of Caribbean actually got on the Park together - can anyone stop them? Lineup of 1. Narine 2. Gayle 3. Lewis 4. Hetmeyer 5. Russell 6. Bravo, Dwayne 7. Pollard 8. Holder 9. Ramdin 10. Williams, K 11. Badree (team still leaves out Hope, Rovman Powell, Cotterell, etc.)"
lunges forward and drives straight to cover
squeezes a drive to cover
chops this cut to point
helps this down to fine leg as he plays a short-arm jab. Off the pad, says the umpire.
this time Simmons holds on to a flat hit at long-on. Pollard points jovially the direction Russell must walk back to the pavillion, but they all have a laugh.
another heave, Lendl Simmons, running around from long-on, drops another catch. This one tougher because he was running around, but no excuses. Pollard is livid. Absolutely livid.
slower length ball, he stayed still, then swung through cleanly to clear long-on. This is a six-hitting fest or what?
flat batted down to long-on, good stop by Simmons
hoicked into orbit, deep midwicket can only watch this sail over.
pulled towards wide long-on for a single.
muscled, but the man at deep midwicket throws himself to his left to take pace off the ball. Superb from Chapman this time.
width outside off, slapped to deep point.
