The St Lucia Kings have officially confirmed their spot in the playoffs with today's win, and their victory sends them straight to the top of the table! Short of a length ball on the fifth stump channel, hangs back deep inside the crease, clears the front leg and whips it away over the cow corner ropes, finishes the match with a six!

The Knight Riders players are completing a lap of honor, clapping and showing their appreciation to the home fans. And that's a wrap on today's CPL action. Thank you for tuning in. Do join us again tomorrow for the Barbados leg. Until then, this is Rashad Mahbub, signing off on behalf of Chandankumar Duorah. Goodbye!
David Wiese: "That was a great performance from the boys. The bowlers really stood up, and I thought we assessed the conditions really well. It was nice to win the toss, too. It was just a good, complete team performance. I think everybody is just enjoying their cricket. That's the one thing we really push: you've got to go out there and enjoy the game and play with that freedom. Tonight, chasing such a low total, you could have easily tensed up and just tried to get over the line. But the guys showed again how they played, that they went out there with a clear mind, which has really been working for us lately. Fortunately for me, a lot of the same guys were there last year, so everybody knows their role and what they're doing. I've got a lot of help from the coaching staff and so many senior players in the team. They've just kind of taken over from last year, and we're just trying to keep that bus rolling. [Message to the Fans] Thank you for your support. Our home league was amazing. It's always good to make it into the playoffs, but now we need to keep pushing. We hopefully want to get that top one or two spot just to give us a little buffer when it gets to the playoffs."
Nicholas Pooran: "First of all, I want to give God all praise and thanks. We are a very contented team and are really happy to have played four or five games in Trinidad. The fans came out and supported us, and we are really happy that we could put some smiles on their faces. Unfortunately, the result didn't go in our favor tonight, but as a captain, I am very pleased with this team. Unfortunately, we've played five games in a really short space of time, and that has taken a lot out of the guys, both mentally and physically. I want to commend the guys for being really professional, both on and off the field. They put themselves in a position to play this game tonight and gave their best. I am really proud of the guys. We can only control what we can, and we can't control the results. As a group, we know where we fell short tonight, and we will chat about it, but overall, I'm very pleased."
Player of the Match, Tabraiz Shamsi: "[Taking on the Big Wickets] That's true. Pollard is a legend of the game, and he's been smashing all the bowlers. In the warm-ups, I just said to Darren, 'Look, I want the responsibility to bowl to him at the end.' He's been in great form, smashing sixes, so I wanted to front up. Whether he hit me for sixes or not, I just wanted to take that responsibility and try and get him out because he's been very disruptive. [On the Celebrations] This is Tim Seifert bumping me up in the changing room because he says, "Look, that's not you. You can't be just stock standard and cool and calm. You've got to bring your celebrations out and be yourself." So the first one was a magic celebration, the second one was my standard shoe phone, and the third one, I had to run to Sammy and say, 'I told you so!' [Tactics] I'm not going to disclose that [laughter]. We might have to play them once or twice again. So those are a few tactics that we've come up with. We'll save that one in the bank for later."
9:59 pm A massive net run rate boost for the St Lucia Kings with today's win, which also breaks the winning streak of the Knight Riders. Tim Seifert started the run chase with a bang, continuing his brilliant form from the last match. Pollard missed an early chance off Seifert, overrunning the trajectory of the ball, which proved to be very costly. Seifert's attacking approach gave the Kings a whopping 66 runs in the Powerplay, which did half of the job in the run chase. After Narine dismissed Charles, and Auguste scored three consecutive boundaries off Russell, Seifert departed right after the Powerplay, scoring 36 runs off 19 balls while trying to send it out of the park against Usman Tariq. Auguste was also dismissed after scoring a quick 28 runs off 18 deliveries. With no more hiccups, Tim David and Roston Chase made sure the Kings got over the line, with a swift unbeaten partnership of 49 runs off 24 balls. Narine picked up two wickets for the Knight Riders, and Tariq got one. It was a low total, and the bowlers were put under immense pressure in the Powerplay due to Tim Seifert's aggressive approach.
