all over, bowled full on middle, and he smacks that over midwicket to take T&T to the final against NSW
Cape Cobras vs Trinidad & T, 2nd semi-final at Hyderabad, Oct 22 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Trinidad & T won by 7 wickets (with 4 balls remaining)
Bravo was absolutely clobbered in the Cobras innings, but how well he has made amends. T&T's batting effort was a collective one; a cursory glance at the scorecard will show that each batsman has chipped in. Perkins and Barath gave them the ideal start, Simmons kept the runs coming and Ganga and Bravo stepped up at the right time to seal victory with four balls to spare. Sherwin Ganga says "I'm EKSTAAATIK right now." Why wouldn't he be?
Cobras buckled under pressure, a big game for them and the butter fingers cost them heavily. Davids dropped two, Ontong one, there were run-outs missed, fumbles, misfields, you name it. Nevertheless, they've had a good run this tournament. T&T were simply the better team and their contest against NSW in the final should be some treat. Hyderabad's the venue again, and with the batting-friendly pitch and the power-packed line-ups, it should be some treat. No guesses on where the crowd's loyalty will lie though. We'll get you the presentation details in a bit.
Bravo is the Man of the Match for his half-century
Bravo: "I believe in by batting ability, and it was good to deliver when it realy mattered. I knew once we batted a couple of overs and got our eye in, we could bat to the end. Also there were Pollard and Ramdin to the follow. The pitch was a bit on the slower side, and I hadn't got too many runs in this tournament. The T&T fans, we must thank them a lot for the support they've given us. They were under pressure with those drops and fumbles."
Puttick: "It would have been a lot closer had we taken our chances. They handled the pressure a lot better than us. We were happy with 175 and we should ahve made it a lot more difficult. We've had a hell of a time here, we've loved it, we've been looked after tremendously. It's been great fun playing with top players from round the world."
Ganga: "The party continues, we must give credit to the team, coach, our supporters, sponsors. This is very important for all of them. At the toss, I told it would be easy for us to chase, a score of 170 would have been fine for us. We had the game in our hands once we batted well at the top, Bravo played a fantastic innings. We have confidence and guys in form, and there were batsmen still to come, so we batted freely. We are quite happy in getting to the final, we're hoping to make it six in six tomorrow."
That's all from us folks. Thanks for tuning in and sending us your feedback. We've had a day of action-packed cricket, and tomorrow, with the two best teams in the competition facing off, it should be no different. Until then, on behalf of everyone at Cricinfo. it's Sid Talya signing off. Adios, be well!
