and there's the victory, Morgan seals the game with a clip over midwicket and England are home with four overs to spare
South Africa vs England, 2nd ODI at Centurion, Nov 22 2009 - Match Result
That is about as convincing as one-day victories come and it has been an outstanding all-round display from England - barring a few dropped catches. Paul Collingwood is the man of the moment with his unbeaten 105 to go alongside a great catch and two wickets. Any votes for Man of the Match? But a word, too, for Jonathan Trott who was also superb.
South Africa have some thinking to do. There side looks a little unbalanced without Jacques Kallis and is a strike bowler short to support Dale Steyn. Roelof van der Merwe had a poor day and generally the home side were a fair way off their game. They have five days to turn things around before the next match in Cape Town on Friday. Stay with us, I will bring you the presentation details shortly.
Graeme Smith. "Credit to England, they bowled well and we were 30 runs short. I think we were a little soft with a few dismissals in the middle. I'd like to congratulate Paul Collingwood...It's going to be a tough summer and we will have to be at out best."
The Man of the Match is...[suspense]...Paul Collingwood. "It was a big day for me, but I thought the team were fantastic all the way through. I had a bad back last week but the medical staff did a great job and hopefully I'll be fine now."
Now Andrew Strauss's turn: "The toss was important, but I was very happy with how we bowled. It was a professional performance. Paul and Jonathan played very well and hopefully we can take this forward. We aren't going to get carried away, but are fairly happy with where we are at the moment."
That just about wraps it up for today, England can be mighty pleased with their effort. We will be back on Friday for the third match, a day-night game starting at 2.30pm (12.30GMT). For now, though, it's goodbye from Andrew McGlashan and Sahil Dutta.
a full toss is clubbed straight to mid-on
another full toss which Collingwood nearly puts down the throat of deep square but it bounces in front
umpire Jerling has taken a blow as Morgan crunches another straight drive...that looks painful as it struck him on the ankle, just above where his shoes finish
big full toss and swung through the leg side
Outstanding innings from Collingwood, what a player he has been for England he he's showing he wants to be around for a long while yet
and there's his hundred, clubbed wide of mid-on and he acknowledges warm applause from the few England fans in the ground and his team-mates...his fifth ODI hundred comes off 108 balls
Paul Collingwood on 99
goes straight down the ground this time, superb clean strike and it beats long off across the boundary...emphatic stuff from Morgan
there he goes, Morgan in six-mode again as he goes down and sweeps a massive blow over deep square-leg...he has all the shots
cuts and misses outside off
turned into midwicket where the fielder prevents a single
uses his feet and pulls out to deep square, goes one bounce to the fielder
clipped off leg stump and goes very fine, but the fielder gets around in time so Collingwood moves to 98
moment of controversy here as Morgan gets a big full toss from McLaren and pulls it in the air to mid on where Morkel runs back to take the catch...but the height of the ball is an issue and after consulting with the TV umpire they decide it was over waist height
That over cost 17 and should be the killer for this match
brilliant batting from Collingwood, he saw third man was inside the circle so upper cuts a short ball over his head and the fielder can't quite pull it in...clever thinking, great execution
on leg stump, clipped down to fine leg
another cracking yorker, Morgan does well to get his feet out of the way and the bat down in time...squeezes it out to deep square-leg
can't take advantage of a full toss as he clubs it straight to mid-on
Comes over the wicket
excellent shot from Morgan as he cuts through backward point, but a horror ball for South Africa as Steyn oversteps and third man misfields to concede the boundary...so it's free hit time
hint of width allows Morgan to free his arms and he gets a think outside edge down to third man...no slips in and that eases the pressure
excellent start, pinpoint yorker on leg stump which Collingwood can only jab into the off side
England have taken the batting Powerplay...looks like Collingwood made that decision. Dale Steyn comes back, last throw of the dice for South Africa
