9.5 to TM Dilshan, Cremer has come back well from that wicket off a no-ball with a quick delivery. Dilshan tries to cut it, there seems to be a noise, and Zimbabwe are pretty certain they have Dilshan caught at the wicket. The umpire takes his time before raising the wicket, and neither batsman looks happy with the decision. 75/2

17.3 to CB Mpofu, slower ball, too good form Mpofu as he lobs it to mid-off while backing away. 100/10
Ajantha Mendis | 4 | 2 | 8 | 6 | 2.00 | 20 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
5.3 to V Sibanda, and it takes Mendis three balls to strike. And this is his favourite way of striking. Length ball, on middle, Sibanda plays for the angle, the ball holds its line enough to beat him, and strike the middle stump. Welcome back, Ajantha. 37/1 5.4 to BRM Taylor, and he is done in by the carrom ball first ball. On a length, on off, Taylor plays for a straightish delivery, and the turns goes past him. Sanga is pretty sure he has got him stumped. Replays show Taylor has lifted the foot during the exact second that Sanga flicks the bails off. That's gone for mine, but he might just get the benefit of the doubt as he lifted the bat only for a brief second. Thankfully the bowler prevails. 37/2 7.2 to H Masakadza, googly there. This is not an offbreak, mind you. this is bowled from the back of the hand. Masakadza thinks he has picked a carrom ball, and plays for the turn away. The ball, however, comes back in from outside off, and bursts through the gate. Mr Mendis, we have been expecting you. 43/3 13.6 to E Chigumbura, Mendis has four for the fourth time in his career. And three of them bowled. This looks like a googly too. Full, pitched just outside off, Chigumbura plays for the turn away, and the ball sneaks through to hit off. 80/6 15.1 to P Utseya, Can he ever? Tossed up putside off, making the tailender drive, the ball turns away a little, and the edge goes into the lap of Mahela at slip. That's Mendis second five-for in Twenty20 Internationals. 87/7 15.4 to KM Jarvis, that's best bowling figures in all T20 internationals, beating Mendis's own 6 for 16. This is a googly, and as alien to Jarvis as Persian. Short of a length, pitched outside off, beats his bat by a mile, and traps him smack in front. 87/8

Thisara Perera | 2 | 0 | 16 | 0 | 8.00 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Jeevan Mendis | 4 | 0 | 24 | 3 | 6.00 | 14 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 0 |
10.3 to CR Ervine, googly, doesn't read it, makes room to drive, misses by a mile, and he has overbalanced. Sanga stumps him, and doesn't even feel the need to appeal. Ervine doesn't walk, Sanga appeals, and the replay shows his foot in the air. Zimbabwe have no answer for the Mendises tonight. 58/4 10.5 to MN Waller, J Mendis gets two in his first over too. That might seal his MOM, And it's a googly here, and Chigumbura is deep in his crease, and is hit in front. 58/5 16.5 to AG Cremer, natural variation for Mendis. Flighted legbreak, Cremer has read this right, but the ball doesn't turn enough, and squeezes through the gap between pad and bat to hit the middle stump. 93/9 |
