3:15pm We have just heard that the second game has been offically abandoned. It's raining even heavier now and doesn't look like it's going to stop. What a shame. That's two points each for both teams and we are all back tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the weather improves and we can get some cricket it. See you tomorrow

Weather, well let's put it this way, it's not looking good. It's been raining steadily for the last three hours. Where has all the good weather that we had at the start of the season gone. If anyone finds it please send it our way. The Umpires have already been out for an inspection and are going to have another one at 3:15pm Will bring you news when I get it.

The Lightning's season so far has been one to forget. With the Ireland selectors taking away the core of their side before the ODI qualifiers in Zimbabwe, the team struggled down in Cork. It may be no different this weekend either. Balbirnie, Dockrell, Tector, Tucker and McCarthy will be travelling to Scotland and it will be interesting to see if the selectors decide to give them a couple of games to re-adjust themselves to the shorter format.

The Northern Knights are unbeaten in the tournament so far this year, and sit clear at the top of the table. Neil Rock has been in impressive form with the bat and has forced his way into the squad for the upcoming World T20 Qualifier in Scotland, so hopefully we get to see a bit more of his big hitting before Ireland put all the international players into mothballs.
