Andhra beat Goa by 4 wickets

Andhra clinched victory by four wickets on the fourth and final day of their encounter with Goa at the Ukku Stadium in Vishakapatnam. A spectacular collapse by the Goans saw them slump from 158 for 3 to 193 all out. The last 7 wickets yielded just 35 runs and could not stand up in the face of some good bowling from YS Ranganath and N Madhukar. At the end of the innings Madhukar had 4/44 while Ranganath ended up with 4/61.

The Andhra team responded well to the small target of 157 and got there for the loss of 6 wickets. A good knock of 52 not out by opener LN Reddy ensured that the home team overhauled the target. IG Srinivas (40) and YS Ranganath (24*) also supported Reddy well. The Andhra side deserved to win against a Goa team that really lacked depth in both the bowling and batting departments.
