all over, ends it with a big hit over long on! He finally comes out of the crease and makes a proper connection
ROW XI vs M.C.C., at London, Jul 05 2014 - Ball by Ball Commentary
M.C.C. won by 7 wickets (with 25 balls remaining)
The spotlight had been on the old stars in the teams but Aaron Finch has made the most of it by smashing 188* on this special occasion. It was all too easy for a man in form. He waited, played within himself at times, but hit is way out whenever he needed to.. He wasn't being tested enough. In between, Tendulkar and Lara played a few entertaining shots, turning the clock back a few years..ROW were handed a blow after Shane Warne fractured his arm during batting, and the other bowlers lacked incisiveness. ROW's batting had been similar - an innings lifted by a Yuvraj Singh century after Saeed Ajmal had almost made a mockery of the occasion by picking up wickets at will. All in all, the match was a great success in bringing all these players together.. A better contest would have made it more interesting though. Thanks for all your comments and feedback. There is a game in Dominica starting soon if you are a cricket tragic. I will move over to watch that one.. Costa Rica are going to win it easily anyway. Ciao ciao.
Manasseh Anand: "Getting congratulated by SR Tendulkar on 50, BC Lara on 100 and S Chanderpaul on 150. What a day for Aaron Finch. Respect :)"
now he looks to go over cover and misses again
now Finch looks for the cross-batted mow, lucky as it misses his leg stump
he waits in the crease before pushing it to deep point for a single
this is all too easy, tossed up on off, Chanders drags it to deep midwicket boundary
Yuvraj comes into attack
short, Chanders gets behind the line and pulls it down to fine leg to bring the target down to single figures
short and wide, a boundary straight down the ground, only that it is right behind Finch.. He was looking to upper cut this but gets a top edge
stands tall and pushes the back of length firmly to cover where KP's misfield allows a single
crispy crunchy punch to extra cover! He waits on the back foot before slapping the ball to extra cover with a straight bat, calls for a quick single
back of length delivery outside off, he steers it to third man for a single
tossed up delivery on off, the batsman drives it to long off for a single
another long hop, another pull, this time it's flying, all the way into the stands
stays back as this is short and slow, now Chanders whacks it to deep midwicket boundary with a weighty punch
comes out of the crease and looks for a slog, picks up a single with an inside edge through midwicket
not on the second chance! Repeats the shot, gets it off the middle and off she goes into the crowd at deep midwicket
looks to drag it from outside off, misses it
it's outside off, What's Chanders going to do? He is going to leave it
meanwhile, Chanders is happy to leave everything outside off
Finally, a leading edge comes the bowler's way, unfortunately, it just drops a few inches short of him
