If the first day of Netherlands' first Test was dreamlike, the third day (after the second was washed out) was, at best, soporific. While they finished South Africa off - taking the last five wickets for 73 - they then took 89 overs to crawl to 73 for 4. It was hardly cricket to enthrall the spectators.
Their bowling at least is something they can be proud of. While South Africa are hardly veterans of this form of the game, either, with ten Tests, they are still a force in women's cricket, so for Netherlands to bowl them out for 232 is some feat. Jolet Hartenhof went on to take 4 for 62, while Caroline de Fouw bagged 3 for 27.
But after the second day washout, and with the final day tomorrow, this game has got nothing but bore-draw written all over it.
