Scorecard
Pakistan women defeated Sri Lanka women in a low-scoring, one-off ODI at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo by two wickets.
Choosing to bat, Sri Lanka women were off to a poor start as opener Chamari Atapattu was bowled by Qanita Jalil off the first ball. The team didn't recover from there, losing wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 153. The only resistance came from Nos. 7 and 8, Deepika Rasangika and Eshani Kaushalya, who put on a 62-run stand for the seventh wicket. Jalil went on to claim two more wickets, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 20 in nine overs.
Pakistan women were not much better in the chase, losing wickets in a hurry after being 1 for 1. But opener Javeria Khan made all the difference, guiding her side home with a patient, unbeaten 63. Kaushalya came good for Sri Lanka women with the ball as well, taking three top-order wickets, while offspinner Shashikala Siriwardene troubled the lower-middle order, picking up 3 for 29. It wasn't enough though, as debutant No. 10 batsman Masooma Junaid batted out nine balls under pressure without scoring, as Javeria knocked off the required runs at the other end.
