bunted down the ground, all over! No sentiment as Cockbain hits the winnings runs, and Malan is left on 98. But it's all about the W, and Rockets have coasted to a record chase by eight wickets
Originals vs Rockets, 11th Match at Manchester, Men's Hundred, Aug 13 2022 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Rockets won by 8 wickets (with 6 balls remaining)
5.12pm: Rockets have fired again in the chase to make it three from three, taking them level top of the standings. I think we know who's going to be the Match Hero... Malan walks off to well-deserved applause for his unbeaten 98 from 44, having hit 88 not out from 49 in Rockets' last match. They have got themselves a formula, but Originals remains bereft, losing their third game in a row - and that despite putting up the second-highest total in the men's Hundred. They struggled with the ball, though, with Rockets easily surpassing the Phoenix chase of 173 against Invincibles in last year's competition. Anyway, no time to dwell, because Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix are about to go toe-to-toe in the evening game from Cardiff. Go get some!
Dawid Malan collects the match award: "It was a lovely wicket to bat on. I actually thought they had a few too many but the way me and Hales started off was brilliant. We know if we get off to a good start, you've got more chance of chasing down. Halesy and me got off to a good start, so the pressure is on them to take wickets. Our bowlers bowled well, we let them down with catches - myself included. But even though they got a few more, we hung in really well. This year, we know it's fewer balls, so you're willing to take more risks to get yourself above the rate. Brilliant, we've got Birmingham and then a couple of home games, so hopefully we can win them and put pressure on the other teams."

Klaassen to bowl... Will Malan go for the two big hits he needs to become only the second man to score a Hundred hundred?

tossed up and whipped into a gap in the leg side, comes charging back for two
fired in from over the wicket, Hartley appeals for lbw with Malan reversing... think it came off the face of the bat

Hartley now. Can Malan still reach his hundred? Rockets need 14, he needs 11
pushed through outside off, 58mph and chopped towards point
flat delivery angled across, Malan steers through point to the sweeper
Michael isn't happy, meanwhile: "I'm going to be brutally honest here because it's true. Jos' 'leadership' reeks of the inept conservatism of Root's test tenure. Just because someone's OK in the format doesn't mean they should captain. Look at Turner at PS men and the success he's had."
uses the feet, clipped down the ground
reverse-swiped over backward point! Shifts the balance and shovels it up and away for four more. Cockbain wants to get this done
missed chance, runs for four! Cockbain jumped out and threw the bat, looked like it might have been a stumping opportunity, but runs are signalled. Must have scratched the toe
Tristan Stubbs on to bowl, 24 needed from 20
angled in with the arm and worked through mid-on
Slip in for Cockbain

Here's Sam: "Malan's hitting in this innings is the perfect revenge to all the stick (mocking cheers) he was getting from the crowd after dropping Salt."
flighted on the stumps, Cockbain gets off strike with a nudge leg side
Hartley's bowled a solid set and will stay on
quicker on off and dabbed behind square
