Well, that's all we have from this opening Test of West Indies tour of Australia. Up next is the day-night Test match in Brisbane starting on January 25. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Looking forward to your company then. For now, on behalf of Venkat, Thilak, Gnasher and Alex, I, Sudarshanan, bid you goodbye! Take care, ciao!

11:58am Time for the presentation

Travis Head, the Player of the Match: "It was challenging. Lucky the experience coming in good stead. Nice to spend four-five days at home in this busy summer."

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies captain: "Bowlers did well to bowl out Australia inside 300. Batters did not get going. As batsmen it is good for guys to get a feel of playing cicket and what it is like to play the No. 1 team. It is about learning how to score and how to put away the bad ball. Important to learn well and learn fast. [Shamar] is full of energy. Makes me laugh. Has a bright future and also scores runs."

Pat Cummins, Australia captain : "Great Test match, good to have it over in three days. It was a wicket where you felt like you were a ball away from nicking it. Don't think anyone even got over a fifty for us except Trav. [Hazlewood] Big fella turned around this week. Not many change the game away in a spell"

11:50am A comfortable win for Australia. Smith and Labuschagne hug one another. Lots of handshakes, Marnus has a word with Shamar, who responds with a smile. Smith has a warm-up handshake with him, and some words of encouragement as well perhaps. A commanding win for Australia

Josh Hazlewood: "Nice to have a couple of days off. We made use of the surface in both innings. I felt like I bowled just as well in the first half of the summer, without much result. With this attack, I felt it is relentless and someone picks up the wickets. [On Shamar Joseph] Amazing debut, you wanna keep going on that. Smithy first wicket on the first ball in Test cricket, dream debut. Smithy was a bit nervous but he was good. Think he struggles in the quick ten-minute change but all good."

The tone was set early this morning as Starc dismissed the overnight batter Da Silva and then Alzarri Joseph before Hazlewood bowled Motie to complete his five-for. Shamar Joseph once again threw his bat around to play an attacking cameo before getting stumped by Lyon. A target of 26 was never going to bother Australia, who have now retained the Frank Worrell Trophy and go 1-0 up in this series.

Iddamal: "my son who is 8 and die hard supporter of Brisbane heats thinks Marnus L should consider flying to Gold Coast and play in today's final. I know Kawaja may not be able to do it given his injury"

Ben: "The new WI pace attack is coming! Watch out with SHAMAR!"
