TOTAL61.3 Ov (RR: 3.31)204
Fall of wickets: 1-106 (Dimuth Karunaratne, 30.6 ov), 2-139 (Oshada Fernando, 41.6 ov), 3-152 (Pathum Nissanka, 48.2 ov), 4-154 (Dhananjaya de Silva, 48.4 ov), 4-162, 5-169 (Charith Asalanka, 52.6 ov), 6-169 (Dinesh Chandimal, 53.3 ov), 7-178 (Ramesh Mendis, 55.3 ov), 8-187 (Lasith Embuldeniya, 58.1 ov), 9-200 (Suranga Lakmal, 60.5 ov), 10-204 (Angelo Mathews, 61.3 ov)
48.2 to P Nissanka, Vermaul wins an lbw appeal from umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge. Arm ball from Permaul from round the wicket, keeps coming into Nissanka and strikes him on the front pad. Nissanka plays for the non-existent turn and pays the price. 152/3
48.4 to DM de Silva, What a double-strike from Permaul! Welcome back. After taking out Nissanka with the arm ball, he finds turn to get rid of de Silva. Flat and quick, on a back of a length and spins away a touch from the batter. He's in a dilemma whether to play or let it go. He does a bit of this, a bit of that, and hence is late to withdraw his bat. He feathers it behind to Josh da Silva, who snatches at the ball on the second attempt and takes it with his right glove. 154/4
52.6 to KIC Asalanka, Permaul strikes again, this time to dismiss the debutant. It raises a puff of dust from the Galle surface. Permaul tosses it up just outside off and gets it to spin in. Asalanka has a short stride and prods at it. He gets an inside edge onto the pad, which lobs up to Bonner at short leg. 169/5
58.1 to L Embuldeniya, bowled him! Four for Permaul, as Embuldeniya is beaten in flight. The ball was tossed up, and pretty full while landing on middle and off. Embuldeniya looked to guide that ball to the off side with his front leg out of the way, but ended up playing with an angled bat as the length ball was too full for him to try and fish at that. The ball landed really full, and spun in to hit the middle-and-leg bail. 187/8
60.5 to RAS Lakmal, five for Permaul, and Lakmal perishes!. What a comeback this is by Permaul and West Indies. The ball is full on off, and given some air too. Lakmal looks to swing to the on side, but is beaten by the flight, as the ball also turns away just enough after pitching. He gets a leading edge, as the ball flies toward point, who doesn't have to move an inch to pocket that. 200/9
30.6 to FDM Karunaratne, Ooooh, Chase has Dimuth chipping a return catch. Chase slows this up around off, finds some grip and turn. Dimuth is fairly early into a drive and ends up weakly scooping it back to Chase, who dives low to his right to snag the catch and give WI the breakthrough. Dimuth falls eight short of what could've been his seventh consecutive score of fifty or more in Test cricket. 106/1
41.6 to BOP Fernando, Warrican strikes on the second morning for WI. Darted shorter and quicker, Warrican shifts his line wide of off and finds turn as well. Oshada chucks his hands at a back-foot cut, but doesn't quite get on top of the ball. He ends up nicking off to Josh Da Silva who celebrates with a fist pump. 139/2
bowled him! Brilliant ball, almost the perfect ball that a left-arm spinner would like to ball. Tossed up full on middle and leg - just full enough to draw the batter forward - and turning away to hit middle and off as Mathews missed his flick to the on side. Four wickets for Warrican - he ends with career-best figures - as Sri Lanka fold for 204. 162/4
53.3 to LD Chandimal, given out leg before on field, but Chandimal reviews. No bat involved as Chandimal goes low and down on his back knee to try and sweep. But the ball is full and straight while pitching on middle, with no inside edge or bottom edge involved. Replays show the ball would have crashed into middle stump, and so Sri Lanka lose a review. Huge blow for the hosts, especially with Mathews out injured. 169/6
55.3 to RTM Mendis, leading edge, and lobbed like a lollipop to cover!. A soft dismissal. This was a short of a length ball on middle and off, which seemed to turn away from him after pitching. There was good bounce too, as Mendis went back in his crease to try and clip that toward midwicket but got a leading edge, as the ball flew to the man stationed close. West Indies on a roll here, as Sri Lanka crumble. 178/7
61.3 to AD Mathews, bowled him! Brilliant ball, almost the perfect ball that a left-arm spinner would like to ball. Tossed up full on middle and leg - just full enough to draw the batter forward - and turning away to hit middle and off as Mathews missed his flick to the on side. Four wickets for Warrican - he ends with career-best figures - as Sri Lanka fold for 204. 204/10

TOTAL104.2 Ov (RR: 2.42)253
Fall of wickets: 1-62 (Jermaine Blackwood, 27.4 ov), 2-137 (Nkrumah Bonner, 58.1 ov), 3-166 (Kraigg Brathwaite, 71.5 ov), 4-180 (Roston Chase, 80.5 ov), 5-191 (Shai Hope, 84.3 ov), 6-197 (Jason Holder, 86.5 ov), 7-197 (Joshua Da Silva, 86.6 ov), 8-208 (Kemar Roach, 89.2 ov), 9-246 (Veerasammy Permaul, 101.1 ov), 10-253 (Jomel Warrican, 104.2 ov)
71.5 to KC Brathwaite, bowled him, that's beautifully bowled! But not very well played by Brathwaite. Looped up outside leg, and it dips onto a shorter length than Brathwaite expects as he gets on the front foot. But he opened up completely while looking to defend, and that left all his stumps exposed once the ball turned and passed his outside edge. That ball could surely have been padded away safely, especially if he was only looking to defend?. 166/3
101.1 to V Permaul, bowled him, beautiful length from Embuldeniya. A bit of in-drift, and Permaul is mindful of lbw, so when he comes forward his front leg is moving away from the line of the ball. From there, he plays for turn, defending with an open face, and ends up leaving a bat between bat and pad. The ball turns much less than expected, and sneaks through that gap to hit off stump. 246/9
58.1 to NE Bonner, loud appeal for leg before, and given! But Bonner reviews after a discussion with his partner. It is a good length ball pitching on middle, almost going on straight with the arm. Bonner is deep in his crease to try and defend, with his front leg almost outside leg. The ball strikes nearly the right side of his front knee, and there is no inside edge involved either. And before replays confirm that the ball would have gone to hit the centre of the middle stump, Bonner is already halfway down the pavilion. So West Indies lose a review, but Bonner played a dogged knock. 137/2
80.5 to RL Chase, gone, caught at leg slip! First over after drinks brings Sri Lanka a wicket. Turn and bounce for Mendis, and he has his man. Chase missed his flick previous ball, which was similar. But this time it is a good length delivery on middle and off, which is again spinning into him. Chase goes deep in the crease to clip, but the ball first takes his front thigh before kissing the inside edge on its way to the fielder. 180/4
84.3 to SD Hope, big shout for leg before, and given this time! Hope has a chat with Mayers, and decides to walk back at the last moment. Tossed up fullish well outside off, and spun back into the batter. Hope is not really forward to defend that, almost getting trapped in the crease. The ball comes into him to hit his front pad, and so up goes the umpire's finger. West Indies losing their way after a solid performance from their top three, with Mendis getting his third. Replays show the ball would have clipped leg stump on umpire's call, and so West Indies wouldn't have lost their review. 191/5
86.5 to JO Holder, more appeal for leg before, more excitement and more reviews! This time by Holder, and within a flash. The ball is again tossed up on middle and off, and comes in just enough. Holder goes to flick from deep in the crease, and there is no inside edge. The ball strikes his back pad and above his knee, and replays come up with an umpire's call again with the ball clipping the top of middle stump. So the decision stays, and Holder walks back with his head down. West Indies crumbling here, with the last wickets having gone in no time. 197/6
86.6 to J Da Silva, bowled him first ball, and Mendis has five! He is on a hat-trick too. What is happening here? Sri Lanka have their seventh, and they are still ahead of West Indies. Another ball given ample flight on off, and bowled just about full enough to keep the batter nearly stuck in the crease. Da Silva does try to defend eventually, but the ball just kisses the edge of off stump to leave him bowled in every sense of the term. 197/7
104.2 to JA Warrican, tossed up enticingly, and that is an outstanding catch from the substitute fielder Chamika Karunaratne! Drifts away from off stump slightly before pitching, and that ensures that Warrican's attempted heave over mid-on ends up miscued over mid-off. The fielder has a ton of work to do, however, to turn around and run back towards the boundary with the ball dropping down from behind him, and somehow he tracks it beautifully and catches it in both hands, staying perfectly balanced right through. 253/10
27.4 to J Blackwood, given out leg before, and Blackwood goes up right away. The ball is tossed up full on middle and leg, and goes on with the angle to strike his front pad. Blackwood goes to defend, but the ball goes between bat and pad there. No inside edge, as confirmed by UltraEdge, and replays show the ball would have hit the top of leg. A solid opening stand is broken, as Blackwood walks back after a staunch innings. 62/1
89.2 to KAJ Roach, outside edge, and nabbed at first slip! Roach was dropped by Chandimal last over, but doesn't survive much longer. Goes forward to defends this full ball on off, but gets the outside edge to be easily grabbed at just the comfortable height by the fielder. Nothing wrong with what he tried to do, but it was perhaps the hint of turn that got him. 208/8

TOTAL121.4 Ov (RR: 2.83)345/9d
Fall of wickets: 1-7 (Dimuth Karunaratne, 1.5 ov), 2-39 (Oshada Fernando, 14.3 ov), 3-73 (Charith Asalanka, 30.5 ov), 4-151 (Pathum Nissanka, 57.6 ov), 5-157 (Dinesh Chandimal, 61.2 ov), 6-208 (Ramesh Mendis, 79.5 ov), 7-219 (Suranga Lakmal, 82.5 ov), 8-221 (Angelo Mathews, 84.3 ov), 9-345 (Lasith Embuldeniya, 121.4 ov)
30.5 to KIC Asalanka, got him, Permaul drops one on an excellent length and gets some help out of the footmarks outside off. Stretches out to defend, and it turns and jumps at him. Inside edge, into pad, and it lobs up for a simple catch at short leg. 73/3
82.5 to RAS Lakmal, loud appeal for leg before, and the umpire raises his finger really late. But Lakmal goes up for help. Good length delivery on middle and off, and going on with the arm at first look. That pushed Lakmal back in the crease to try and clip, but he missed and the ball hit his pad above the knee. There is no inside edge there, as the ball skids on with what seemed like a very late movement away from the batter. Replays show the ball would have clipped middle and leg on top on umpire's call, and so that is another close call going West Indies' way. 219/7
84.3 to AD Mathews, is that a clean catch at slip? Yup, Blackwood has nabbed that pretty well after going low to his right. The ball turned away from him as Mathews looked to defend that full delivery on middle and off, but instead a leading edge flew to slip, where an alert Blackwood grabbed that nimbly. His front foot wasn't really forward there, perhaps because of that injury, and so he wasn't entirely close to the ball. 221/8
57.6 to P Nissanka, given out leg before last ball before lunch! And Nissanka reviews after a word with his partner. There seemed to be some extra bounce at first glance. The ball pitched on middle and off, and spun back in as he missed his clip off the back foot. There is no inside edge there, with the ball hitting just above his front knee to go between bat and pad. Replays show the ball would have clipped the top of the stumps on middle and leg on umpire's call, and so the decision stays. Sri Lanka retain the review, but they lose a wicket at the time they would have hated most. 151/4
61.2 to LD Chandimal, is that a catch? Or is it a bump ball? Nicely flighted on middle and leg, and Chandimal gets forward to drive, ends up hitting it straight back to the bowler at catchable height, in front of his stomach, but did it bounce after hitting his bat? It's gone up to the third umpire, and the soft signal is out. Full ball, and it pops back to Chase, straight off the inside half of the bat. Chase gets another big wicket. 157/5
121.4 to L Embuldeniya, bowled him. Fullish and straight, offcutter, looks to make room and launch it over mid-off, and he fails to connect. 345/9
79.5 to RTM Mendis, And Brathwaite strikes! The trick works. It was a teasing delivery from a part-timer, that was hung slow and was loopy. Full ball on middle, and Mendis' attempted sweep lands in the hands of deep square leg, where Roach sitting pretty nabs it well. Mendis almost looked like wanting to send it somewhere into the waters beyond the stands, but the ball was too slow and he seemed to have played early. West Indies have an opening right before the new ball is due. 208/6

TOTAL56.1 Ov (RR: 2.35)132
Fall of wickets: 1-15 (Kraigg Brathwaite, 7.4 ov), 2-65 (Jermaine Blackwood, 30.4 ov), 3-92 (Shai Hope, 43.1 ov), 4-92 (Roston Chase, 43.2 ov), 5-92 (Kyle Mayers, 43.6 ov), 6-103 (Jason Holder, 48.2 ov), 7-108 (Nkrumah Bonner, 50.2 ov), 8-128 (Kemar Roach, 54.4 ov), 9-129 (Veerasammy Permaul, 55.3 ov), 10-132 (Jomel Warrican, 56.1 ov)
30.4 to J Blackwood, gone last over before lunch! Blackwood went for the drive to that full ball outside off, which was again given some air. The ball turned just enough to take the outside edge to first slip, and he walks away in disappointment. Looked like his bottom hand came off as he had to play a touch away from the body with the ball going away from him, with some gap between bat and pad as well. But anyway, West Indies lose a solid-looking Blackwood, who has thrown away another settled start. 65/2
48.2 to JO Holder, turn, bounce and edged to first slip! Pulls his length back to go just on the fuller side of a good length on middle, and gets the ball to turn away from Holder again, as the batter is stuck deep in his crease to try and block. But the ball just bounces just enough - especially considering Holder is a tall man - to take the outside edge, which DDS snaffles easily to his left. 103/6
50.2 to NE Bonner, chops on, and the off stump is shattered! A very slight hint of turn away from the batter, with the ball being around the good length on off, as he tries to cut but gets a bottom edge since that was played from too close to his body. Although the ball was slightly shortish in length, its line meant there was no room for Bonner to try and chop at that, and so he pays the price. 108/7
54.4 to KAJ Roach, appeal for leg before, and given. But this Roach reviews. Another full ball given some air, but this one pitches on leg. Roach goes to sweep but misses, as the ball strikes his front pad after turning away. There is no edge there, and replays confirm the sharp turn: the ball landed just about on leg stump for a bowler's liking, and is shown to have turned away to hit off stump. West Indies sliding further. 128/8
56.1 to JA Warrican, He does, and both Embuldeniya and Mendis end with five each! Simple catch at first slip, and nabbed to round off the win. Gives the ball air to go full on off, as Warrican tried to clip that with an angled bat. But he ended up getting a leading edge right in the bag of slip, and bang! Sri Lanka wrap up a 2-0 series win. 132/10
7.4 to KC Brathwaite, beauty! Celebrappeal from Mendis, and a swift decision from umpire Palliyaguruge. Brathwaite reviews, though. Brathwaite has a tendency to play very chest on, with his right shoulder coming round, and that means his bat usually comes down at an angle while he defends off the front foot. This spins in from outside off, but not as much as he expects, and it misses his outside edge, hits his front pad - juust in line with off stump, umpire's call on impact - and from there it's only going on to hit the stumps. 15/1
43.1 to SD Hope, wow, what a way to go. One of the least threatening balls Mendis has bowled all day. Short, turning into the stumps, and he rocks back and snatches at a pull, only to hit it straight to square leg at stomach height. 92/3
43.2 to RL Chase, no hundred today, he's gone first ball! Hard hands leading to his dismissal here. Tossed up, turning in from outside off, dips on Chase a little, and he gets forward and reaches a long way in front of his body to flick. Hits it uppishly, and short leg has somehow held onto it despite it flying straight to him. Falls to his left, and manages to cling onto it, stuck between his arm and thigh I think. Or just grabbed it and smothered it to his body. Terrific work by Oshada Fernando.. 92/4
43.6 to KR Mayers, and it continues to! Three wickets in the over for Mendis. Classic offspinner's delivery, angling in from around the wicket to draw Mayers forward to defend. Pushes at it with slightly hard hands, and it turns sharply from an off-stump line to take the edge and go to slip at a nice, catchable waist height. 92/5
55.3 to V Permaul, five for Mendis, but wait... Permaul reviews. How active has the third umpire been made to be today? Anyway, the ball is tossed up on a fullish length pitching outside off, and turning well into the batter, who is standing well across off while trying to tap that to the on side. But his bat around off stump as he misses, and so there is no inside edge there. And replays show the turn would have helped the ball clatter into middle stump. So Mendis has five, and 11 for the match so far. 129/9
