Michael Clarke scored his sixth hundred at Adelaide Oval in nine Tests. With this century, Clarke equalled Ricky Ponting's record for scoring the most centuries at the ground. Click here for a list of batsmen with five or more Test-centuries at a venue. Clarke's also one of five batsmen to score 1000-plus runs at this venue, having scored 1257 runs at 104.75.

Clarke now has 12 hundreds in Tests as captain, moving him past Sunil Gavaskar, Graham Gooch and Garry Sobers in the list of captains with most Test-centuries.

Brad Haddin's hundred in this innings was his third in the Ashes and his fourth in Tests. He has now equalled Adam Gilchrist's record as the wicketkeeper with most Ashes hundreds.

The 200-run partnership between Clarke and Haddin was the highest partnership and the first double-century stand for the sixth wicket in Tests at Adelaide Oval. This was also the seventh partnership of 200 or more runs by Australia's sixth wicket in the Ashes and the first since Mike Hussey and Haddin added 307 in Brisbane in 2010. There were 12 sixes hit by Australia in their first innings - the highest number in an innings in the Ashes and the second-highest hit by them against any team. For England too, this equalled the second-highest number of sixes conceded by them in an innings in Tests.

Including this innings, Graeme Swann has conceded 1121 runs to Australia in 2013 in Tests. He's one of the only ten bowlers to conceded 1000 or more runs to an opposition in a calendar year in Tests. Only three bowlers - Geoff Lawson, Michael Holding and Arthur Mailey - have conceded more in a year to a single opposition in Tests.

This innings was the 25th time that Swann has conceded 100 runs in an innings in Tests. Since his debut, no other bowler has gone for 100 or more runs as many times. Mitchell Johnson, the next bowler in this list, has conceded 100 or more runs in 14 innings.
