Menashe Wadhawker hit an unbeaten 75 as Ashdod A defeated Dimona C in their final league game of the season, easing their relegation fears in the process.
Three wickets a piece for Michael Moses and Joel Reuben helped dimiss Dimona for 181 in Ashdod on Saturday, before Reuben scored 40 and Hillel Awasker contributed 19*, as Ashdod A reached their target in a little over 20 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
Three teams are involved in a relegation scrap at the bottom of the table. With one game left to play between Dimona C and Neve Yonatan, Dimona are bottom with 52 points, Ashdod A, having completed all their games are on 62 points, and Neve Yonatan are best placed on 77 points. With a maximum of 30 points on offer Dimona could avoid relegation with a win over Neve Yonatan, however victory is something they have failed to achieved all season.
The bottom placed team is automatically relegated next season, whilst the 2nd last team will meet the 2nd placed team from Division 2, Tel Aviv Sri Lanka, in a promotion-relegation play off game. Ramla have already secured the league title, whilst Kiryat Gat will be promoted having won Division 2.
