The verbal battle between Kapil Dev and the Indian board officials has intensified further with Kapil hitting out against IS Bindra, the president of the Punjab Cricket Association.
Bindra had, on August 31, contradicted Kapil's claim that the board had not informed him of their intention to sack him from the National Cricket Academy. "Let him touch his heart and admit what had been discussed when he met the board president on July 16 and then me, a couple of days before the ICL launch," Bindra said.
"Mr Bindra shouldn't go around telling lies," Kapil told the Kolkata-based Telegraph. "Fact is, we'd just met casually in the Delhi Golf Club bar. Is that the place to convey anything officially?
"The ICL didn't start with the idea of fighting with the board. However, I'm the type that if you push me against the wall, I'm definitely going to fight back."
The BCCI had sacked Kapil a day after the ICL announced a host of new recruits.
