Michael Buchanan is in line to play his first final with Queensland after being called into the squad to replace Matthew Hayden for the FR Cup decider. Hayden, who broke a toe in Australia's Chappell-Hadlee Series loss to New Zealand on Tuesday, was due back alongside his international team-mates Shane Watson and Mitchell Johnson for the game against Victoria at the MCG on Sunday.
Buchanan, the allrounder in his second season with Queensland, comes into the 12 after playing eight one-day games this summer. The Bulls will also be bolstered by the return of James Hopes, who has recovered from a thigh strain. Victoria finished the preliminary rounds on 32 points with seven wins, which was one more than Queensland.
Queensland Cricket has announced Damien Mullins has resigned from his 14-year post as a Cricket Australia director. Mullins, 46, will continue in his role as chairman of the state association.
Queensland squad Jimmy Maher (capt), Andy Bichel, Michael Buchanan, Chris Hartley (wk), James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Ashley Noffke, Aaron Nye, Clinton Perren, Craig Philipson, Chris Simpson, Shane Watson.
